T.O. Getting Bonus Without Practicing

There are 18 comments on the The Associated Press story from Jun 1, 2007, titled T.O. Getting Bonus Without Practicing . In it, The Associated Press reports that:

Terrell Owens will get his $3 million roster bonus from the Dallas Cowboys even though, like several other starters, he hasn't been practicing with the team.

Owens will get that bonus, plus a $5 million salary for the 2007 season, since he was still on the roster Friday, when he was again absent from voluntary organized team activities.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had repeatedly said since the end of last season that Owens, who had 85 catches for 1,180 yards and an NFL-high 13 touchdowns, would remain with the team. Jones wasn't made available for comment Friday. Read more

Stories like this amaze me. And comments like yours amaze me more. T.O. is suppose to be paid according to the contract. The camp now is voluntary and many, if not most, veteran players are not there right now. And it isn't TO talking, it's reporters like this and people like you.

I think you've been molded by the media. "Distractions"?- Name two since TO came to Dallas and name a single person who "we could do better with."

T.O is a bum i'm glad he doesn't play for SF anymore and for that matter Philly too. He is a bad example for my kids and i don't have any.

Hey Jack, Iím glad TO doesnít play for San Francisco or Philly anymore also. That way when the Cowboys plays SF or Philly, the Cowboys will win. Thanks, Jack.

And Iíll just add one other thing, I think that everyone who dumps on T.O. without actually saying anything that is based on a rational or intelligent thought, are really saying more about themselves than T.O.

You're right, people like you who serve the community and save and protect us deserve to make ALOT more money, but unfortunately our great country doesn't facilitate that. On the other hand, T.O. and the rest of the professional athletes are working in the PRIVATE SECTOR, meaning they can be paid whatever their ownership sees fit. For you to say Owens isn't working is just asinine. The guy ONLY led the NFL in TD receptions last season along with 80+ catches and over 1100 yards. Sounds like he's earning his dough to me. Now the guy can be a pain but c,mon, nothing he had done last year was on par with his stints in Philly and SF.

Yup, Although I personally don't care for T.O., that is irrelevant to what he does on the field, which is produce on par with any other receiver in the league, yes even the "Good Guys". The media has targeted weak minded people and together they just won't let this thing die. T.O. is not supposed to be a role model for kids that is why they have parents, so do your job, Jack and let T.O. do his without people like you in his jockstrap!

>>> I think you've been molded by the media. "Distractions"?- Name two since TO came to Dallas and name a single person who "we could do better with."

1. He spit on a player for talking trash to him (whagh). Of course T.O. doesn't like trash talking and is very sensitive.

2. Instead of celebrating with his teammates who rushed over to him, he ignored them, layed down in the end zone after a touchdown (which easily could have been made by just about ANY other Dallas receiver) and "acted" like he was sleeping, as if to mock Parcells for reprimanding him for sleeping during meetings.

3. His stupid fake O.D. on prescription meds. We all know he loved the attention.

4. Go online and search, there are plenty more "distractions".

Let's face it, T.O. is a little spoiled brat. He has the mind of a child. He has bad karma, and his bad karma will continue to plague the Dallas Cowboys as long as he's a part of the "team". I don't look forward to this season at all. Unless of course T.O. quits or gets fired EARLY.

Well Nuts (don't you have a name?) the only one that you mentioned that even comes close (and it was no distraction either) is his laying down in the end zone, the spitting would not have been reported on if it wasn't TO. The OD you mention you have no idea if it were fake or what it was. It's that type of talk that is the problem. People like you making statements that they have no idea if it is true or not. And your generic request to go search, no thank you. I do not think he is bad karma. And only a moron thinks he will be fired early, since there is no such thing. And I notice you failed to name a single player that the Cowboys would be better off with. Jerry Jones is a smart businessman, and is not going to pay what he shouldn't. TO is worth every cent he is paid, and I am very happy he is on the Cowboys.

That's "Mr Nuts" to you *sshole.

LOLOLOL It's apparent you have a HUGE hard-on for T.O. Why defend such an over rated over paid jerk off? The spitting would not have been reported if it wasn't T.O.??? HAHAHAH are you insane?? Ever heard of Romanowski? And not lying down in the end zone is not a distraction? Again, you seem to have a little school girl crush on this THUG.
The OD you mention you have no idea if it were fake or what it was.
It WAS fake you cock knob. How can ANYone but a little kid overdose on Hydrocodone? It's friggin cough medicine!!! His dumb *ss took so much he had to be hospitalized?? WTF???? How stupid can you be? What kind of a grown man acts like this??? That's why he is not a grown man, he is a bratty spoiled little child.
And only a moron thinks he will be fired early, since there is no such thing.
I didn't say he would be fired dumb*ass. I merely stated that him being fired or quitting would be the only reason I would give a sh*t about the Cowboys this season.
And I notice you failed to name a single player that the Cowboys would be better off with.
I wasn't the original poster so I didn't need to answer the silly question. But I will now anyways just for you dear. ONE person??? What about Keyshawn Johnson. They should have kept him on instead of bringing in T.O. Keyshawn was just starting to assimilate with the team and get better when they got rid of him. Now it's too late. He's retired.

What about Larry Fitzgerald? What about Steve Smith? Both are in lousy teams that could have been better served in Dallas.

Who else is left- I don't need any 'names'. Bring in a rookie for all I care. ANYONE but T.O.
Jerry Jones is a smart businessman,
Jerry is just a pompous megalomaniac. He loves the media attention and stirring things up. I speculate that he brought in T.O. just to boost Cowboys game ratings by all the BS that would come with his DISTRACTIONS.

By the way, lets not forget about all the scenes of T.O. yelling at the sidelines. Yelling at his teammates. Yelling at his offensive coordinator. Yelling at Bill Parcells. He has NO respect for anyone but his lame self.

What's funny is that the times I saw him yelling at the team, they all appeared to be ignoring him. Who needs motivation from this JERK???

This is a forum for people who wish to make intelligent comments about football. It is not for the spoutings of slanderous comments against players or those making intelligent and reasoned comments.

You are just plain disgusting. You will not be responded to again. And I encourage others to ignore you also and to only respond to those with some degree of civility.

It seems like it's you with the serious problem. I've never seen TO talk rude like you do.

As for the receivers you mentioned, none are in the same class. Why do you think that Keyshawn was released by the Panthers? You can't figure it out?

TO has done things he should not have done, but it's people like you that take it to a level it simply is not. And you don't see him doing these types of things as much. But if you don't want to watch the Cowboys, then don't. Some of us like them, and we are very happy to have a player of TO's abilities contributing to the effort to win. And this is a fact that no one who has played with him disputes. So get off you high horse, because you talk like an idiot.

Another thing, when you are as successful as JJ, then you can criticize him it you think you should. But until then, shut up. And if you were, you wouldn't because you would know what you are talking about, which, you don't.

So until you have something to contribute, just stay off of America's Team posts. With the way you talk, maybe you should root for a team who talks your language. We Cowboy fans do not.
