Carson Palmer thinks every team would accept a gay teammate

Full story: MSNBC

Carson Palmer has been in the NFL for a decade and played for the Bengals, Raiders and now the Cardinals, and he says he has never seen any reason to believe that an openly gay player would run into discrimination on an NFL team.

after while it's gonna be, "every man needs a gay man" (LOL).
sorry palmer, it's just not right! i have nothing against gays because we live in a mixed society and it is what it is! BUT? sorry, my religion does not accept the gay thing. and it does not mean they can't or shouldn't play football, they are human after all, it's just, they should just keep "the don't ask don't tell" rule, just to keep the peace. with this being "openly gay" in the nfl thing, it's just going to bring controversy and law suits for gay rights! it's going to get ugly-er!

What aggravates me more than anything is that this is news! Who cares?!!! If people would stop making an issue out of it, it would become irrelevant. Now if a gay guy makes advances in a locker....that might be an issue. But nothing like that has been reported so who the hell cares???

I don't think it's very relevant to the sport who the athlete sleeps with. In that same light, i don't think its very relative to society either. I think at some point we as a species need to drop borders, languages and religions as they will further entrench and separate us from one another. I understand that wholly unrealistic for most people but it's my viewpoint.

If we can do that, and band together as a global species and explore the stars, i think we can survive as a race. I don't see it happening otherwise but would be happy to be proven wrong.

Some players might feel uncomfortable if they knew there was a gay in the locker room with them. There is a reason men & women have separate locker rooms now it looks like they need separate ones for gays & straights.

see? it's already caused controversy! and it didn't start here, it started elsewhere but thats why i say, why come out? why say you are gay? is that so players respect you, or is that so players stay away from you? if you are seeking respect, you may have just blown it. if you are seeking for players to stay away from you, it may have just happened. point is, how was it before they came out? think it will be better now? maybe you can come out in basketball tennis and swimming., maybe even in baseball, but football? nfl football? if you are gay like harris of the nfl and wants to come out after no longer playing football? cool, good enough "for him". and now an active football (lb) ayabandejo who claims he is gay and now say's four more players are comming out will probably most likely have a "hard" time getting back into football. juuuust because they say they are gay. and guess what? there is going to be a rooney like rule later of gay football players that have to be interviewed by "any" team they wished to have played for."lawsuit"! again i say, just because a player is gay does not mean he is not a good football player, it's just a matter of controversy that is goping to happen. you know what? to each his own, and i respect you all and your opinions and am not against players "gay players" playing in the nfl, it's just, men are men, and i believe there will be issues with that whole "cumming out thing" (lol). like i said, why bring it out? this day in this "new era" everyone is to say it is okay to be gay. well, good for you. during 911 after all the commotion, everyone became equal. which is cool. and it would be cool if the whole world was like that. but it ain't. and just because it is not, don't mean we can't live in the same world. just ask buford! and even rodney king said, "can't, can't we all just get along" (lol). it would be nice but society gets back to what society is. and it just is what it is. so, all in all it is accepted. but it's gonna get ugly before it gets "pretty".
bathroom for men, bathroom for women, gays can enter either one? what if?,(lol)

I've been thinking for a few years now we as a species are far too focused on our own sh*t. It's been varying flavors of religion, skin color, societal and sexual preferences forever. Trying to justify and bench press logic for each and every point is a pretty lossy use of energy.(its ok to be black now, it will be ok to be gay in a decade or two, but then we will just move on to something else we don't like) Too small. Partial acceptance and comfort level of our own race has been seen as positive improvement and i'm afraid it just won't happen quickly enough that we can actually escape this planet someday. Truly, i really don't hold out hope for humanity as a whole. We have time, if we use it wisely, but do you really think we will? I do not.

For real, there are many larger barriers than who someone bangs in their spare time. FREAKING SPACESHIPS. Thats my theory. And also why i don't vote. Because i don't hear any politician talking about issues that i actually care about. I want a damn spaceship and a world with no religion or borders and a common language. So when people ask me, are you Republican or Democrat, i just laugh and say "it's too small"
