I don't no if people paid any attention to wut we ask Carson Palmer to do lastyear. Damn james bond, that was mission impossible. Look how many times he was asked to throw over 30 passes a game in an offense he hadn't began to learn. Wit a receiving corps he wasn't familiar wit at the least. Plus u gotta giver some off those ints to the WRs cuz I seen alot of good throws & decisions on option routes & the receiver cleary chose the wrong option. Carson has some of the best touch on a football. Since everybody took thee liberty to judge him by lastyears standards, then u all should be kind enuff to go back & study him as a QB in general. Don't just take ron jaworski's word for it. Thats coming from a guy that wasn't that great of a QB himself. Carson is a better QB then he hands down. Yea I'm bias, but I no the promise of Palmer & I seen it lastyear. The guy still has it. He just needs time & stability. Judge him after this year. Bet you'll be singing the praises & ima be like"told u so."

for what palmer did last season, was amzingly ahh! not so so but yet a savior to what boler was going to do. yea he was an int, machine which was expected comming off the couch but he pulled through. good enough, he wasn't top ranked and who knows if he will be. as a matter of fact I don't think anybody knows how the whole team will do this season just on the fact that most everything is new in this org. but I do know that I never really liked c palmer in the past. I recognized his tallents at usc, my so cal. hometown, yet I felt that in the nfl, pamer was going to falter. he was okay in cinci, almost better than expected and I never really thought he would end up in oakland. he fell here by pure coinkidink! but he is here. he is now a RAIDER and he is going to start from scratch, almost as if he was a brand new (qb), only, with nfl experience and a oakland fan background to back him. this will all be a new experience for the fans and the whole RAIDERS team. palmer is not a bad (qb). not the greatest, but not bad at all. if I was a football player, "a fan", I would go to battle with him as my leadman. so, I have all confidence that because he will go through all training camp, he will learn the system and do good enough for the team, if not? better. if not? great! for what he did last season, he may just be better this season.

Again O.G Palmer was on the verge of something great in cinci but he fell vic to an oakland type hypocrisy when the steelers lineman purposely targeted his knee & 4 wut ever reason after he came back he just didn't want to be there. With a run game like ours he'd can easily become a top 10 QB. More ruins = less times he has top force passes & he can just run the offense. I mean I seen wit my own eyes lastyear him force to carry the team b cuz defenses got hip to bush sup the run game was obsolete. Thats why I give DHB that same respect cuz he carried us alot of games too. Wit DMC back in three mix the skies the limit. We have a all around better team than the texans except Andre Johnson. Our 2nd &3rd options are way better & shaub thru for over 4k in that offense. Carson got the instincts of a killer QB. Not saying it will but if it does alot of teams gonna be in trouble this year. Play action pass is gon kill em.

He definitley was up against the wall. That said can't rank someone high based on what could be. Proof is in the pudding. I will save a ranking of him until week 17 of the season.

I agree. You can't rank him based on last year. I'll wait to see how he does this year. But I expect he'll be back in the top 10 among QB's.

I say top 10 by season's end as well. last season really didn't count. his time in cinci, doesn't count. his time on the couch definetely does not count! but I am fairly impressed with his past. this is why I say that this season will make him or break him in oakland. this season he goes through full training camp with oakland. AND, I believe, just because of his past and will to win and pride of being an oakland RAIDER, carson palmer will flourish here. a happy (qb), will better himself for his team. carson is getting up there in age and he knows, the time is now! but I give him two years worth of work here before he makes it? or breaks it.

would any of you consider drafting him to be your starting FF quarterback?

I woods say this much cuz I don't play FF. Being a Raider fan in the past even with Campbell, I done panic when we're down in the 4th qtr unless it's a blowout. I have faith in Carson to take the team down & give us a chance win. He did it lastyear for instance in the 2nd k.c game. He also did it in the chi game. Like I said the guy is a killer a2 the position

No...too many INT's throughout his career. I hope he provrs Mr erong. He is talented. it's just for ff he throws too many int's. Too much of a risk.

Definitely plan on drafting him but I don't know about being the "starter". I need to see a few games first. If he's averaging 275-300 yds per game, and 1 or TD's.....I don't mind an INT or 2. He's still getting enough FF points to rank him somewhere around 8-12th in QB's (depending on your scoring)

Also plan on getting Denarius Moore. I think the chemistry between those 2 is going to be magic.

As of right now I'd say he is 7 out of what I consider the top 20 of the names mentioned by people responding to that article..

1. Drew Brees
2. Payton Manning
3. Tom Brady
4. Aaron Rodgers
5. Eli Manning
6. Matthew Stafford
7. Carson Palmer
8. Matt Ryan
9. Phillip Rivers
10. Tony Romo
11. Josh Freeman
12. Ben Roethlisberger
13. Joe Flacco
14. Andy Dalton
15. Cam Newton
16. Michael Vick
17. Alex Smith
18. Matt Schaub
19. Sam Bradford
20. Jay Cutler
Jason Campbell

I think Carson will do great this season and can't wait for the games to begin. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how great the QB is if the team doesn't follow suit and vise versa. I think Alex Smith lucked out having a team that was on there game last year as that made him look better then he is.

Ranking Peyton manning #2 is quite a reach considering he didn't play last year. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Eli Manning are clearly top 5 QBs; Brees will be one too if he signs The 5th spot in the top 5 QBs is clearly up for grabs.

I won't have an opinion on Palmer until after the season starts. I'm not looking at stats, I look at wins and when we lose I look at what plays turned the tide against us and I remember being disappointed several times in the Kerry Collins era when we'd be driving good and he'd turn the ball over or just turn the ball over deep in our own territory. Palmer has been an INT machine most of his career. When we traded for Jason Campbell, I was relieved that Jamarcus Russell was on his way out. I really thought Jeff Garcia was going to be the proven QB vet we needed to revamp our offense, but wanted out because of JBust. He may have been the check down king, but I liked Campbell because he tried to keep the ball in our control. Palmer tried to get fancy at times and air it out a little recklessly, but I think he's worth giving a shot to...I didn't think he was worth the price we paid for him.

In this modern era of football u can't be the checkdown king & think of going deep in the playoffs. Look at SF. Our team's are modeled just alike & Alex Smith had 2 air the ball out in the playoffs. That style might work in the regular season but not in the playoffs. So as to ur Campbell notion, yea we had a winning record in the beginning of the season but him being scared to air it out was'nt gon get us past the 1st rd if that far. Palmer has thrown his share of ints but he's also had his fair share of game winning drives. He's known to push apart defenses & thats wut w need. Someone good enuff to carry a game when teams are smart enuff to take Mcfadden out of the game. As for lastyear, Palmer gave us a chance to win in most of the games we loss under him. The defense just was horrible. Hopefully thats a thing of the past.

Squeaking by the Bears with their backup QB auditioning for his next career as a garbage man does not count as a pummeling, unless of course, you are a Raiders Fan. Is it hot enough for you out there?
