I like Roman over the others But if the Vikings are willing to hold off to Roman is out of the playoffs or super bowl Why not hold & see if Adam Gase is willing.

Will he be binging a 3-4 defese? Do the vikings have the players for it? The defense sucks anyway might as well gut it start fresh in this draft. They have a few guys that can play in the 3-4 I think. Floyd could be a good DE in 3-4 and if I remember he has some experience in it.

Hiring the D coordinator from Cincy is a solid hire IMO. Minn. still needs to improve at Starting qb ( may it be Ponder or a new draft pick) but with Peterson running it,,Rudolph at TE. Patterson is going to be a very solid WR in short time after he learns the NFL offense and a pretty good line.If this defensive mind can help fix the woes on Defense, Minn.will be solid.

I don't think the Vikings have the players / linebackers to play a 34 D right off.:) Zimmer did a great job with the Bengals this year with all the injuries on defense they still finished third in the NFL on defense. I think Zimmer will run a base 43 to start with & mix a 3-3-5.... Most new Head coaches will bring in a offensive & defensive coordinators. I am pretty sure Zimmer will do the same.

Hi erie!....with your new HC,im sure you will get your wish, new coordinators and new coaches...Im sure since Frazier and Zimmer are different guys, although both D Coor. Zimmer will bring something new and he did run a pretty good defense, i think you guys will be happy with him.31st ranked defense in the league bringing in a very good D C will help..Your GM will have to hit on a few good defensive players in the draft and your on your way..

Speculating whether or not MN runs a 4-3 or 3-4 or hybrid is fun but looking back to last years performance one could ask if CHI, MN, or GB even have the players to run their current defenses. They were all pretty damn bad! MN gave up an average of 30pts per game (32nd in the NFL). It cant get much worse and obviously it needs to be rebuilt.
They have a few years before the new stadium opens to rebuild it and then try and compete. Offensively MN wasn't horrible last year.... they put up some points.

Which is why hiring a defensive minded coach was a pretty solid move on Minn part.Offensively, they arent that bad.Rudolph at TE, Peterson and their backup at RB, Paterson is going to be scary good at WR a major threat and they should land a very good qb with the 9th pick in the draft..maybe it takes a year for the qb to really get it but ..
a good qb,,Peterson at RB KR at TE, CP at WR a decent/good oline and with a defensive type HC to help rebuild the defense with some pieces in place already.
Harrison Smith is a great Safety,,Floyd on the def.line and a few others,so, they should be alright, they just need 1 or 2 more good drafts.

You got to love Mike Zimmer determination---Im determined to bring a championship to Minnesota, Zimmer said. Ive got a chip on my shoulder. I want to make sure that 31 other teams know that Im here and Im ready to coach this football team. I cant wait to stand on the podium with Zygi and Mark and Jonathan, and were standing on the podium, and we look up and the confetti is falling down on top of us, and were all hand in hand, and Commissioner Goodell comes over and hands the Super Bowl trophy to Mr. Wilf and tells him hes world champion, Zimmer said. That is my goal and that is my drive.

You know.......... I am pleased with the Nor hiring rumors..........his forte has always been as an OC..........he's had success at that position going all the way back to his Dallas days so maybe there is some light..........Zimmer can focus on the D side of the ball and let Turner do his thing on O..........still need to bring in at least one big name FA preferably on the D side of the ball and draft O early on..........

I would like the Norv Turner hiring for OC myself.Lets see if you do like a Chicago...
Chicago grabs an offensive minded coach, the Offense kicks and the Defense took a serious nose dive..
Minnesota hires a Def. minded Coach to fix a weak defense,so lets see if he can spin some magic and build the defense but keep the offense from taking a bit of a nose dive ( although with Paterson,Peterson, Rudolph and your backup RB,Minn has some nice offensive pieces..) abit better qb play and another WR and Minn. offense will be once again solid.

OF course as a Packer fan,ive got my own worries over here.4 FA def.lineman, the best corner, best LB ( other then Mathews),,,17 FA in all with prob. 3 def. wont be back,so 14 decisions to be made AND GB MUST get into the FA market and make an impact.

Minnesota did a great job hiring Zimmer and if they bring in Norv Turner, thats pretty darn solid
