I know it would be hard to have 2 kickers but man.... Longwell sucks on kickoffs, including against NO last Thursday.
When are we going to get a touchback? We really needed to keep him, giving the other teams the ability to catch the ball on our 5-10 yard line and then return puts our defense in a tough spot.

I went to high school with Rhys and also watched him when he played for the Gophers, and the guy has extremely good leg strength. He just doesn't have the accuracy to be a PK or the consistancy to be a full time punter (though he hasn't yet punted in the NFL). Having one player as your PK, KO, and Punter would be great because it opens up a spot for another position player. Maybe next year Rhys!

Packers RB Ryan Grant is now ruled out for the season with a high ankle sprain.

So much for the trendy Super Bowl picks:

Packers - barely won Sunday, lost Grant for the year, and Karen Rodgers looked awful

Cowboys - still a bunch of underachievers

Jets - Over-hyped, and now without NT Kris Jenkins, also lost for the year

Meanwhile, Cook, Gerhart and Kennedy are back practicing for MN, and a WR deal looms on the horizon. Looks like the Vikes' Super Bowl prospects are suddenly much better...

Seems unlinkey... who would play receiver for the next 6 weeks?

Jackson might not be out for 6 weeks. The suspension from the league is just 3 weeks. The Chargers put him on a 6 game suspension for holding out, so that they could keep another roster spot open. They are now arguing that a trade to another team should mean only 3 games out for Jackson, thus improving his trade value. A hearing to resolve that is set for this week.

Am a true Vikes fan but would never revel in a player being out with an injury. Grant was a fun player to watch and a true proffessional, its too bad he is done.

I don't know that people are actually happy that a player is injured. I think they're just happy that a division rival will now be a little easier to keep up with or beat outright.

Well said :> I am happy that a good player will not be playing & helping the Packers take the North divison is all & With him out chances go down. No packer fan can tell me they wouldnt like to see Favre go down . Last year Packers fans was on here saying they hope someone would brake Favre's legs. Saying it was good News hearing about Grant being out for the year is far from what Packer fans was saying about Favre Dont you think.>>>> GO VIKINGS
