Good bye Routt don't let the door hit you from behind you will not be missed the most underachieving overpaid starting cb with most penalties and holding calls downright terrible . good bump and run cover cb Is one thing Routt is not and was not just another fast no talent Al Davis scholarship player hopefully more on the way Huff , Mitchell soon to be on that list of underachievers get rid of them all

Only DB we need to keep is Branch. He always gave it his all.

For the money Routt was getting, we should be able to get a REAL GOOD CB in FA.....maybe 2.

Hopefully Huff can be an elite CB....otherwise he needs to step up or get out.

Mitchell I think is a decent player. Not real great in pass coverage but a great hard hitter. Plays a lot like Branch (in my opinion). If Branch goes down injured, Mitchell could step in.....He's just not getting the playing time behind Branch--I think Mitchell comes on in nickel pckg. Don't get me wrong, he's no Tyvon Branch--that's for sure.

Routt was a decent player and I wouldn't have minded keeping him but his contract was way more than he was worth. I do hope we keep Branch and I like Mike Mitchell but he's mainly a running down player. I still think Branch could move to FS and Mitchell could start at SS.

Exactly. I agree. We just can't let Mitchell get caught trying to cover Antonio Gates....that was embarassing LOL

We still got Giordano too--to help on passing plays....maybe Branch at SS with Giordano at FS.

I do like Matt Giordano...As a matter of fact, I like him better than Michael Huff and Hiram Eugene. I think it should be Mitchell at SS and Branch at FS on running downs and then on passing downs move Branch up to SS and bring in Giordano at FS...Heck I'm not opposed to trying Mitchell at WLB and then keeping Branch at SS and Giordano at FS.
