I don't know why anyone wouldn't like Manziel if he is on the board I say draft him. Turner was the coach of Drews Brees a smaller QB that also has big hands. At the time everyone said Brees was to small & couldn't see over his own offensive line & his small frame couldn't stand up to the beating he will take in the NFL. Every thing said about Brees is now being said about Manziel. On Bridgewater I am not buying into Bridgewater's stock droping just because of a bad proday. He was considered the best QB coming out of college & was still the best after the combine. I would take him if Manziel is gone Both I think would be fun to see in this system of Turner's.

The Vikings could be in a great situation Having the top three QBs to choose from. Myself I think having Manziel With the Vikes offensive line & Peterson in the backfield along with Patterson, Jennings & Wright would make the Vikes offense problematic for defenses to game plan against.

I see Ponder2 in Manziel, except Ponder is taller and has more experience. With Ponder playing, the Vikes put up 30+ points and still lost. While I'm not a Ponder backer, I think the talking heads are dictating the direction the Vikings draft by dumping on Ponder. Before I believe the QB is our highest priority, let's wait until our present coaching staff makes their assessment.
Take the BPA in an area of need.

Manziel is like Ponder? I dont agree Manziel can throw the deep ball with accuracy. something Ponder never could do. Did you see film on Manziel. He is very young Yet considered one of the Top QBs. & being young is his only drawback that I see. I see a top young QB with a high upside. Let him sit this year & learn & learn the speed of the NFL Theirs no rule that says the 8th pick can't sit & learn. I am all for taking the best player on the board Many here said Manziel isn't worth the 8th pick & isn't the best player But are guys like Mosley or Barr or Gilbert worth the 8th pick experts said taking any of them three at 8 would be pushing up their stock value IF their not worth the 8th pick are they worth taking a chance on them any more then taking a top QB?

Who is the best player of need once you take Clowney & Mack off the board ? experts has said it would be pushing up their value of Mosley Barr & Gilbert so are they the best on the board are we pushing it drafting them in the 8th spot. We do have a need for them But we also have a need for DE I think WR Watkins or Evens is also a need maybe not a top need but Jennings isn't getting any younger & the Vikes will be hit with his Cap money after next season. Who is the best player of need but yet worth the value of the 8th pick?

The Vikes put up 30 points a game but it wasn't Ponder with his less then 200 yards a game throwing lol Turner has said We need a good "young" quarterback & He was just talking about Manziel. I see most everyone here isn't for taking a QB with the first pick. Next year is worst then this one for QBs, their is one guy Murray & after him none are any better then this class of QBs should we take a chance on a later round QB pick or take one of the QBs considered to be the best of this class?

And Norv should know. Look at all of his head coaching failures which got him canned. That's why I hired him, he sucks. I want him sitting next to me when I draft the 2014 busts.

Yes, Manziel is considered a top QB but does he fit Turner's style? He won't be running like he did in college, these guys are much faster.

If there are 3 QB needy teams ahead of us and they pass, I'd say the consensus is that he isn't THE QBOTF. Isn't QB the most important position? If that's so, why did 3 teams pass? Think they're stupid?

So much more goes into making a QB than escapabliity. Personality for 1 thing. From what I've read, Manziel is Me, Me, Me. Like a Harvin. Good player but can be a cancer in the locker-room. And just like Frasier with Harvin, Zimmer will sit his ass down.
I just hope we don't have to even make the choice, hope he gets drafted before 8.

Just had my 2nd hip replacement surgery and I'm hurting. Not my leg the latest mock draft.

8. Minnesota Vikings: QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M

The most famous prospect in the draft will fall to No. 8, and Minnesota Vikings fans will be thrilled.

We are talking about an NFC North division that features Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler and Matthew Stafford, and in Johnny Manziel the Vikings will finally have an offensive cornerstone to match behind center.

Manzielís talent has been well documented for years, but teams wonít be able to solely key on Minnesotaís powerful running game with this pick.

All of his years? You counting his high school stats? Or just the 2 at A&M.

A bust.

We don't have a starting QB on the team we need a QB the problem with Manziel I saw him hurt his knee without being touched. We already have Ponder who has missed gamed due to injury in every year of his pro and college career. Hope the bleacher report is wrong but Spielman has never picked a good QB in his career so they are problem right.

Yes there are 3 QB needy teams ahead of us. These teams that are picking ahead of the Vikings IF they all pass on Manziel & take who they think is the best player on the board Then when the Vikings pick comes up Manziel will be the best player on the board. Theres a long list of NFL great QBs that said they wouldn't pass on Manziel. Are they all wrong, does their opinion means nothing here? Manziel is a sophomore a dramatic player with a very high up side. Anyways that's my opinion I think Manziel would fit Turners system Turners likes to throw deep & Manziel throws deep better then any of the QBs in the draft. Look at the QBs Turners had success with Then tell me Manziel dont fit his system.

lol Yes I am I think Manziel is one of the most dramatic young QBs. Theses a long list of great QBs that also agree. I see him thorwing deep to Patterson, Turner said one of the first things he did was draw up 10 plays for Patterson. He is going to us his speed on fly routes. I don't see 8 in the box for Peterson The D will have to account for Manziel & roll with him Just so much can be done with him... IF Manziel was Vick everyone would have loved to draft him. Same big arm Same make a play out of nothing by running.

Hip surgery? No one likes to under the knife so no snarky remark here. Now....about your pick. 2 things...1st, I don't think he lasts until 8...and 2nd, I see Spielman as being gun shy, so he won't pull the trigger on rd 1 QB....at 8.
My guess is Spielman trades down if he can find a partner. The reason being he's stated this is a deep draft, he likes 10 picks AND he's stated there is not sure-fire QB in this draft.

Usually people expect a 1st rd pick to make an impact right away. Manziel will cause divides inside the locker-room, simply because he will want to play....and we would be clamoring for him to play.
Things need to be answered. I don't buy the story surrounding Manziel at Manning's QB camp. Manziel missed practices BEFORE he claimed to be sick. Claimed to be dehydrated. Aahh....OK....not.
No one questions Manziel's talent....but his maturity? Selflessness? Would I take Manziel? Absolutely...and sit him a year. Will the Vikings take him? Another story.
