I have no opposition to this guy but we really need help on both sides of the line.

On a rebuilding team, I would say no to signing him. The roster spot would be more wisely used for a young player with future potential. He would make a potentially valuable addition to a contender that is thin in its pass receiving corps. He is a reliable player who rarely makes mistakes. Perhaps the Patriots could consider him.

Derek is 28 in his prime. We could get a solid 4 years out of him. Perfect for a rebuilding team...experience and age on his side. Not to mention you said contender and patriots? Patriots o-line us old and not what it once was. I would be surprised if they go deep in playoffs.

I agree that Hagan is a reliable player for a fringe player, but a fringe player none-the-less. The fact of the matter is that he has been cut numerous times in his career and there has to be a reason. His greatest value is to a team that needs another experienced vet to replace injured receivers.
