The NFL is in danger of losing control over the players. Players should be ejected and fined for ANY and all physical contact with an official. There should be NO exceptions for anyone or for any reason. All players should be made aware of this fact. The officials should not be allowed to make a determination of intent because the players will push the envelope farther and farther until there will be an official who gets badly injured. Think about the fact that the official have no helmets or pads to protect them. They, therefore, deserve to be immune from physical retaliation of any kind whether intentional or not. There is simply no place for roughing up officials in professional football no matter how badly they blow an occasional call. They are only human and make mistakes like all humans do.
