Rob, I am sure you were at the game and may not have realized this but there was a play in the 1st half that the refs muffed. Mark Clayton caught a pass and fumbled at the pink breast cancer sign on the field. I think it was like the 25. He was ruled down by contact THERE but a Bengal picked it up and took it in for a TD.#1, I felt MC really did fumble, the replays show it too.#2, the Bengal was on TOP of MC when he picked it up, whereby at best, it should have been a fumble recovery but the ref there allowed the play to go thru and called it a TD. As stated, the other ref ruled him down by contact. After a review and it was sorted out, the play on the field stood, meaning no fumble. A simple pass catch and tackle..........was the same crew we had last week in NE.
We noticed it too and what is amazing is that no one on the Raven's staff of 15 coaches noticed it and their booth is not far from my seat near the 45. Well if I noticed it without binoculars, what is wrong with them?
Look let me be CLEAR! If you dominate the other team, then you don't have to worry about the refs and their b.s. Like I used to tell my baseball team when I was coaching, if we just knock the cover off the ball and play good D, the strike zone isn't going to matter even if there are two strike zones in the game.
The Raven's just had a bad day, plain and simple. They didn't play like champions. They were in some wierd funk. Was Cincinatti the better team yesterday, sure, are they a better team overall , hell no. It happens. Look, Cincinatti could as easily be 1-4 with a bounce here and there. At least the Raven's won all three of their games on the field without controversy or lucky bounces. Should have won at NE, but the party girl Brady was whining too much to the officials. I still can't believe the one roughing penalty was called AFTER the play was dead and Brady blew a kiss at the official. Hell, I still had the Raven's 4-2 at the break, so I am not too dissapointed. Though I did have them losing AT SD and not Cin.
Bigger question yesterday for those of you watching on TV (did they say anything???), where was McGahee and where was Mason. I thought I was watching a Cavanaugh offense again.
Speaking of which, on an unrelated note...did you see our guy Boller fumble yesterday and Minnisota runs it back for a TD! Ya------hoo, you go Boller, nothing has changed for that loser. Wonder if Billick was calling the game for Fox. Really bad karma in that stadium, lol.
Speaking of bad karma, my guy, NOT, Clayton screws up again. OK, so Flacco leads him a little too much on the big throw to the end zone, OK, so how about turning on the jets and trying to catch up with the ball or, God forbid, even my wife said this first, "dive for the damned ball". Him and demtrius Williams need to go next year, totally useless in the clutch. two gigantic BUSTS!
I will state what I have stated all along, please draft a CB and a WR. All I will say on that for the rest of the year.
And now for my final rant, ha, ha....if the Raven's had to lose yesterday, if that was part of God's plan, then it was worth it to see one my fab five most hated players, Ocho Stinko fumble a sure touchdown pass and then get his head knocked off in the same game. Terrible play Ray, just stupid getting the penalty, but since the Raven's just didn't seem like they wanted to win, THANK YOU for making my day with that hit. It made losing a little more tolerable. And thatnk you Ed Reed for helping that idiot fumble. made my day to see that over rated MOUTH crying on the sidelines.
And it was great to see NE lose in OT! So cheer up folks, it's a long season and everything will be fine. Said it often, the primary goal is to get to the playoffs. Only a fool thinks 16-0 is important.

Here is what you might not have realized but when they placed the ball on the field, they placed it 5 yards back from that cancer sign. Instead of 3rd and 8 like it should have been, it was 3rd and 13 because they erroneously spotted the ball. HUGE error on the part of spotting the ball. I am not going to blame the refs for a loww, but, this was the same crew we had last week in NE.
I really don't get it. I was there and saw that too. We were all yelling about it. What the heck is wrong that 15 Raven's coaches couldn't see what everyone else could see? Hell the coaches box isn't far from my seat so if I saw it without binoculars, why couldn't they? And the only reason I saw it is because the spots have been sooooo bad, that I have been watching the spots.

Bottom line is the Raven's just didn't play like champions yesterday, they were in some wierd funk. You have to bring your A game, which they did to their first 4 games. They just didn't play to win, not that the Bengals did either. But lets just move on, long season, I had Raven's 4-2 at the break, so all isn't bad.

I just like how all the Raven fans (not so much you guys Rob, Amadeo & GHT) were ripping us Steeler fans for losing to Cincy, and now I don't see any of those guys on here.
Our division is tough and this one reason why...Pitt/Balt and now Cincy will be beating the crap out of each other from here on out...
But think of the bright side. There is a mathmatical possibility that three teams from the North could make the playoffs which means NE wouldn't. Now that would be m-a-r-v-e-l-o-u-s!!!!!!!

sucks to be beat by the bungles doesn't it? Didn't watch the game but some highlights. what the f was lewis thinking putting a late hit on ocho stinko? that was a stupid play that kept the drive alive. reeds pass interference call also helped lose the game but at least he was making a play on the ball. lewis was just being stupid.
Sucks to be beat by anyone. I had a function to attend after the game that went late. You guys won 28-20 with the Lions. Haven't seen any highlights of any games because I got home after 12. What's up with the Lions scoring 20? Was the game close?

I have a feeling the NFL Network will show this in one of their 4 replay games. You should tune in. On one play, we got called for a penalty, may have been the last drive by the Bengals, yet Trevor Pryce was virtually being pulled to the ground by flagrant holding on the same play. It's amazing, no flags. I am sure when you watchh it on TV it'll be even more disappointing than live at the stadium.

Ray Rice is wonderful, that play of his allowed us to at least score and Offensive TD, but, we need to beef it up again with McClain and McGahee, our two Irish bruisers. Or is it Scottish?

We've seen 3 totally different Ravens teams now. Not sure what to expect next week.

not too close but in typical fashion this season they gave up a TD in the 4th. we held them to 2 fgs all game then Ben throws a pic 6...believe it or not dante culpepper looked pretty good. he threw some bad passes but he threw some pretty damn good ones too. Our OC, in typical fashion dropped the idea of running the ball...since it worked so well in the first half. it's a very bizarre trend this guy has to go away from the run even when it's working. oh well a W is a W...

I told you guys the bengals D was for real. those guys are way better than they were last season. also Benson is a beast. he had some good runs against the steelers too.

loved the hit on 85...dumb, but loved it anyway. lol.

that pivot off the arm and keep running was totally a barry sanders type run. rice is a good back. agreed that they aren't feeding the ball to mcclain..what's up with that? that guy is monster.

I had to laugh, I saw the clip where Kyle Boller does what he does best, the "lose the ball and the Defender scores a TD" trick. Some things never change. Maybe this is why Billick is in the booth talking rather than on the sidelines evaluating talent? Man he wanted KB in the worst way. What a sorry 5 years that was.

I am still not a believer in the Bengals. Lotta luck there. I will have a better feeling after the Raven's play them again in 4 weeks. Yea, it was a dumb hit, BUT I LOVED IT! Now that's the way football is meant to be played. Oh, just hand out flags and we'll play flag football because the NFL is really getting SOFT.

No one seems to know. Where was McGahee, leads the team in rushing td's.??? My only theory is that the Raven's realized last year that havig to play without a bye, they just plain old ran out of gas when they finally met you guys in the Championship game, sooooo, they are just pacing themselves. It that's the truth, it's bizarre.

Other wierd stuff going on too. 2nd round pick Paul Kruger was a sack machine in the preseason and hasn't played yet. He isn't injured. Raven's say that its because he doesn't play special teams. OK, so don't play a sack threat when the front 3 are having trouble rushing the passer? I don't get it. Maybe they are saving himn till later in the season when the old guy Pryce poops out?

Funny thing is that in press conferences, no one is asking the right questions..........so it's all a mystery.

That is one thing I did see today. Went to a St.Louis sports site to see that idiot fumble...TOO FUNNY! I laughed so hard. He is such a loser.

I'm wondering if we'll draw quicker penalty flags for the rest of the year. It does seem like when you get certain ones, refs are quicker to throw on you down the line.

couldn't be any quicker than we've already gotten. The crew on Sunday was the same we had in NE. If we draw a different crew, things might go back to normal.

that guy and Billick over 5 years set us back about 2 Super Bowls. Had we gotten a serviceable QB, with that D, holy cow.

Guy is a complete waste. How you couldn't be a good qb with with Heap, J.O., Flynn and company on the O line is beyond me. Soemhow, McNair did it for a season, why couldn't Boller.

we used to say a similar thing about having a QB when bettis was tearing things up. turns out cowher wasted about 8 or 9 years of a HOF running back's career on sub par QBs.

If you can't watch the show, go to the ESPN web site and just watch Irsay's drunken press conference from BWI airport. That's what we had to work with, so don't anyone ever come on here and say Baltimore didn't support the Colt's!

Rob, thanks, I had no idea it was on. Holy cow, that Irsay, what a piece of work. How does a drunk that confused ever amass the fortune he ever did? I know he stole his sheetwork business out from under his parents, but good lord, what a dick. I just laugh when people say Baltimore didn't support their team. Please, look at this guy, who was wrong?
