BREAKING NEWS FROM NFL HQ's------for all of you who think the officials were not biased.

"NFL executive Ray Anderson said Tuesday the comments made by the Ravens after the New England game did not warrant fines."...so says the Baltimore Sun today.

That's the first time players and coaches have not been fined for criticizing the officials. What do ya think now?

I have never seen Todd Heap drop a ball that hit him right in the chest. Just haven't seen it. I'll admit, I am no Clayton fan. He was billed as this big time, quick receiver and it's just never happened. Big time receiver is Mason. Guy plays with one arm last year and still makes big time catches. Now he is an NFL receiver.
I'm glad clayton is on your side. lol. i hope they keep going to him on crucial downs.

WR is the last building block for the new Raven's offense. Young O line with a bunch of 20 somethings (except for Birk), set at rb, fb and qb for the next 5 years (contracts run out). The only thing left is wr. Mason will be retiring, for real, soon, so I see the Raven's focusing on WR next season. Ther other focus in the draft whousl be cb and a REAL return guy.

that is amazing. The last few years when the NFL channel used to have the segment with the head of officiating, Mike Perreira, they'd talk about incidents in officiating that happened over the weekend. Each week there were situations where I felt Mike would finally have to own up and admit the officials blew it. I waited and waited and each week he had a reason why the officials were just in what they called. Not once in 17 weeks last year did he ever admit there was a blown call. I got so pissed watching those segments seeing him weasle out every week. This is refreshing news for once.

When it's obvious enough that even the NE newspapers write about it and Brady is saying, "I didn't write the rules", it really does turn the NFL into the WWF.

thought i responded but it didn't go through. maybe this will be a double post.

last night i watched the nfl network replay of the pats ravens game. i was thinking just as you posted that WR is where they will go with the next draft. also CB seems kind of iffy at best with you guys. reed makes up some ground but i think you need some young fast talent in there at corner.

another topic is LBer. lewis is older and slower and will play another season or two but that's it. i noticed your l LB...#59 I think out of position quite a bit and whiffing a few times in open field tackles. maybe he's a young guy? who is in the wings is my question. the d line will be anchored by ngata for quit a few years. not much to worry about there.

I like what the FO has done with team...i just don't wish them too much success. lol.

LB is deep...I'm looking for webb to come in at CB at some point...Ayenbadejo(sp) who is now on ir was probably the best bet to come in at LB...he was in a lot and actually got hurt making a tackle. For now he's probably just such a great special teamer that they would rotate him to full time LB...dude has gone to the pro-bowl 3 years in a row on ST (I believe). WR wise...I think Washington is a good bet to replace Mason, Clayton...I don't know what the deal will be...he did make alot of good catches before that drop though...not that anyone will remember them now. I don't know what's up with Williams...he just got beat out by the vet for now. Then there are the practice squad guys. The dude Riley from Duke may have potential...but just knowing he was from Duke let me know he would need development time.

sucks to be beat by the bungles doesn't it? Didn't watch the game but some highlights. what the f was lewis thinking putting a late hit on ocho stinko? that was a stupid play that kept the drive alive. reeds pass interference call also helped lose the game but at least he was making a play on the ball. lewis was just being stupid.

A. It was #41, Frank Walker with the penalty, not Reed. The announcers blew that one. B. This has always been the Ravens problems playing teams in their same division, the other teams with Hines Ward, Ocho etc, they talk smack and get in their heads. We can't handle the trash talking too well and make dumb mistakes because of it. Ray was licking his chops but really, that hurt and should have been avoided. I hope he enjoyed the hit more than the empty feeling of a loss like I am. We had that game won playing piss poor as it was and we let it slip away.

All we had to do, just like so many times in the Billick era, was make a 1st down or 2 in the previous series b4 cincy got the ball. Coudln't do it. 3 and out. Game over. I saw it coming like so many times b4 with Palmer.

Rob, I am sure you were at the game and may not have realized this but there was a play in the 1st half that the refs muffed. Mark Clayton caught a pass and fumbled at the pink breast cancer sign on the field. I think it was like the 25. He was ruled down by contact THERE but a Bengal picked it up and took it in for a TD.#1, I felt MC really did fumble, the replays show it too.#2, the Bengal was on TOP of MC when he picked it up, whereby at best, it should have been a fumble recovery but the ref there allowed the play to go thru and called it a TD. As stated, the other ref ruled him down by contact. After a review and it was sorted out, the play on the field stood, meaning no fumble. A simple pass catch and tackle. Here is what you might not have realized but when they placed the ball on the field, they placed it 5 yards back from that cancer sign. Instead of 3rd and 8 like it should have been, it was 3rd and 13 because they erroneously spotted the ball. HUGE error on the part of spotting the ball. I am not going to blame the refs for a loww, but, this was the same crew we had last week in NE.

Will someone explain to me illegal contact? I get that you can't touch a WR after 5 yards but why on earth on every play of every game I watch OTHER than a Ravens game, are the WR's touched the whole way, pushed, jostled and defended exaclty the same way we defend and these players are not called for illegal contact or pass interference?

I don't know what is right anymore. I am at a loss. I don't know up from down and right from left. I don't know good defending from "getting away with it" anymore. will anyone please explain?

You know, bengals fans were mouthy after they beat the steelers, I don't even want to know what it will be like until they play either team again. God save us.

I just like how all the Raven fans (not so much you guys Rob, Amadeo & GHT) were ripping us Steeler fans for losing to Cincy, and now I don't see any of those guys on here.

Our division is tough and this one reason why...Pitt/Balt and now Cincy will be beating the crap out of each other from here on out...

the thing I don't get, is if a fan can spot and no doubt thousands did...why can't the people who get paid to pay attention to these things spot it?

That one play, the Ravens got called for a penalty, I can't even remember, it may have been the last drive. We got the penalty but Trevor Pryce on the replay was literally being brought down in a horse collar by one of the OL of the Bengals, yet no call for holding.

we have talked about this before, why not have a dedicated official in the stands, watching the game on TV, where you can see things you can't on the field and also listening to the live game feed? The announcers bring up valuable info that he can pull from along with his "knowledge". The announcers were all over the erroneous spot plus Tasker brought up the fact the guy who picked up the fumble was down by virture of laying on top of Clayton, yet the ref signaled TD. I really didn't expect the refs to get this play right and they didn't. We still got the shaft on the 5 yards we gained when they spotted it at the previous line of scrimmage.
