The Future: Why The Raiders Need To Start, And Build Around, Terrelle Pryor In 2013.

Feb 1, 2013 Full story: Silver And Black Pride 10

OK. First things first. I know damn well that it's almost impossible to mention the name " Terrelle Pryor " on this site or anywhere in Raider Nation without creating a schism.

What a cowardly article. He tries to make it sound like he believes in pryor and Palmer getting to a just shy of .500 record would be a fail. Realisticalky we have so many needs a 7-9 next season is expected. Anything over .500 would be awesome. But look at all our needs. A qb can only do so much. Kelly and Seymour are getting old. That is two big sets of cleats to fill. Not to mention a new offensive scheme...the guy who wrote this article needs a dose of reality.

It's not about gimmicks and running QB's. Its about good players playing smart football. The Raiders have a history of playing their own brand of football, lets not jump on bandwagons and think every black guy that can run and throw will become Russell Wilson. It's silly and isn't based in reality.

The pocket passer will never go away because it is solid, fundamental, match up based football. The "mobile" qb only works when the guy is actually smart and hard working enough to compliment his natural talents. Think of Kordell Stuart from the 90's Steelers, guy was an idiot so he was never too successful.

Same thing with pocket passers too. Not enough people born with the mental + physical capability to play NFL qb, plus stay relatively injury free and keep their nose clean, and dont become entitled and all that stuff to stay hard working.

Start Palmer, sit the young guy and let him learn.

dennis allen should have given terrelle pryor more of a chance late last season and not just on the last game. but he didn't! d allen didn't feel pryor was ready. but i blame d allen for that. it seems as though d allen was still trying to win more games and save his job rather than look at the future with t pryor. he trusted palmer, and with good reason! but he should have give more games to pryor knowing that we had no chance to win at the playoffs. the bronco game was important to dennis allen and i understand he (allen) wanted to win to prove a point "understandable", but any game after that, a good look at terrelle pryor would have been great. today, we could have probably said, okay, he looks ready, or, naugh he ain't ready. but, d allen plays him on one one partially full game, pryor does decently, and now people are asking for pryor to start! with good reason of course, but unproven cause we ONLY SAW ONE FULL GAME OF TERRELLE PRYOR!
honestly? i still feel palmer should start still. but? let the best man win!?. if the controversy is so high? let them duke it out in training camp and pre-season. may the best man win and back the winner 100% cause, we are going to need it!

Terrelle Pryor is the real deal a winner, as long as he works hard he will be the leader the Raiders have desperately needed, even if it was only one game and forget about the late game mistake he was involved in all three touchdowns and still thought he played horrible, this guy wants to succeed and will only get better.
