Time to fire kevin Gilbride. The Giants have the tools but they seem to fall flat offensively in too many games with offensive coordinator Gilgride's unimaginative play calling and game plans. simply out-executing a team on football fundementals is no longer enough today. The Packers and Browns of the 60's may have succeeded with the approach with Vince Lombardi and Blanton Collier at the helm respectively, but defenses have evolved to the point where much more creativity is needed.

I can't seem to pit my finger on it, get my arms around it, or even embrace it, but I still know how to guarantee it, whatever it is. Can somebody shove another 2x4 up my ass so I can have that pained look on the sidelines?

Let me add that the rosters were too small to include all the specialty players they now have on defense and there is no longer man to man pass coverage which has greatly changed the equations on the field of play and back in those times, a team could get away with a smaller playbook as long as the execution was there and Lombardi and Collier were known for not having a particularly big and complicated playbook. Gilbride must go and Manning may be overrated. Manning was throwing short to medium for most of the game and the Falcons were ready for it.

The Giants need a WR with world class sprinter speed who can stretch the coverages out. Hixon at 4.48 in the 40 is currently the fastest wideout they have.
