So did this kid play high school in El Paso?

Was he highly sought by other colleges other than Fordham?

Funny how the El Paso Times will do anything to attach

themselves or the cities name just to get their name heard.

Yes, you stupid idiot! He is a native El Pasoan who went to high school in El Paso and played high school ball in El Paso. The article makes it real clear. Can't you read?

If the mom is smart about it and has already obtain a lawyer then by law the little girl is entitled to 25% of his salary. Let's see, it's about $490,000 of his 4 year deal. I am sure the lawyers will line up and Skelton will hate the EP Times for reporting on his salary. Coming from a family, the Skeltons and Loyas, who carry themselves as honest, hard working, and family values oriented this should be easy. Stand up to your responsibility or is he waiting for one of the networks to out him as a dead beat dad. We all know the times will never do that, they are to busy adjusting their knee pads everytime they talk to him, heavens knows what they will do if he makes the final cut. The times is not a real paper people.

Insider. Come on he is a football coach and he belongs to the AD Kenny Owens close circle of friends. The AD protects a select few. Remember coach birkhead? He was a ahole to everyone and carried himself as if he was the best coach in el paso but his record was the opposite. Lousy teacher.

Birkhead was a great coach when I played at Burges back in '94. Coach Henry,Coach Carrillo, Coach Ramsey and Birkhead were a great coaching staff!!

"Birkhead was a great coach when I played at Burges back in '94. Coach Henry,Coach Carrillo, Coach Ramsey and Birkhead were a great coaching staff!!"

And I also remember El Lil Tury runnin da ball, dang his nickname was blazer fool. Then i remember El Tren Tony, dang he was the hardest heatin linebacker in da city.

Seriously EP people grow up and stop trying to relive the old glory days. Go to autozone or applebees and relive them there with your old teamates.

Jeez....This is pure malarkey one kid makes it to the NFL and you have to vent negativity about the situation.

EP hasn't changed.

All of you hating idiots need get a life and quit airing the man's dirty laundry in here. Who cares about his personal life, this article is about his football performance. Everyone will have their day in court and that will be that. In the meantime, let the man earn a living so that if it is his daughter, he can support her. If you are so worried about the child, support her and STFU.

There has been a day in court and skelton is gonna have to payout. THe little girl is his. It is a shame he tried to not take responsibility. So it had to be done the hard way.
Comes from a boy who is selfish and immature. Through all this maybe he will grow up. But I doubt it.

The one positive I can give is he has come from an average program as an average QB. He did not quit and found a college that would give him a chance. He made the most of it and got to be a very good player. Kiss it no mames you gutless wonder.

He sure was better than Derek Anderson, and the other rookie QB didn't even take a snap. I think Skelton earned himself a spot on the team.

Behind Leinart and Anderson is a good spot to be....both those boys go down easy. John may get a Kurt Warner moment if he hangs in there.

So he had his day in court and is going to pay child support... good for the little girl and maybe this will allow him the opportunity to mature. As for you, let it go. He didn't knock you up or make you "kiss it". So get a life and let the guy live his. I'd rather be a "gutless wonder" than some nosy arse loser who comes in here and posts shyt about someone who could care less whether they lived or died. Again, this is about his athletic performance, not his personal life. So get a life of your own.

Man the people come every time there is an article about him. The interest is that he played at Burges, took a path to a small college in the Patriot league (which does include Army and Navy) in D1. Improved and now ready to try and make it in the NFL. He has the physical skills. I saw a program on ESPN where they analyze his physical skills and measure them. He was impressive physically. If you take that skill and add experience and development, he may do alright for himself. Let's focus, this article is not about his dad or personal situation. People can grow up and mature. Players come out of nowhere and do well in this league. Just ask Romo or Warner. Romo did not play for a while but he does alright for himself now. Warner took a while before he came in and now a possible HOF. Skelton may fit this mold, who knows. All players have to come from somewhere, and he came from El Paso, thus the interest. When was the last time a QB that played in El Paso has a shot at the big time?

sounds like no mames has intimate knowledge of big johnny's love life. Inspite of that Skelton should have a chance to make the roster and from there who knows. He may start someday.
