For those fans who dived headfirst onto the panic button, displacing their Cheeseheads or Terrible Towels in the process, this might be a good time to re-evaluate your teams.

The Carolina Panthers vicotry over Washington moved the footbal team to a 2-6 record. Yet that record could be easily 7-1. They lost in the last play to CHicago and Atlanta at near games end with field goals by those two opponents. A 5 point loss to Dallas and a 4 point loss to Seattle. And then a 6 point sluggish loss to TB. All of these losses came at under a touchdown at the most and a field goal in two of them as the margin of defeat. The two interesting features is the Carolina secondary is one of the weakest in the NFL and Peyton Manning is probably one of the leagues greatest passers. John Fox the Denver coach was also the Carolina Panthers former coach. So the Carolina offense needs to step up to keep pace with a potential aerial bombardment from Manning, unless the Panther backfield can hunker down and neutralize a potential Denver passing attack. Once again its interesting that Carolina could be considered a 7-1 team, in a lot of regards because of their solid play in a lot of the games that they lost. secondly statistically they are very much alive in the playoff picture, though they need to come out on top in these remaining games, in order to accomplish gaining a berth in the playoffs. Catching Atlanta is out of the picture. THe 8-0 Falcons would have to lose the remaining games in order for the Panthers to have a chance of surpassing them and that will not happen.

Recent news media reports have related the possibility of the Carolina Panthers being sold to Los Angeles in the future. THough at this point such news is specualtion. The Panthers owner Jerry Richardson was in New York on NFL business and the talks could have included a possible move of the Panthers to Los Angeles even though that news is still speculation. Los Angeles has been interested in two NFL teams operating in the city in the coming near years ahead.

Harry,
Go put your head back in the oven and turn the gas on this time. A 2-6 team should be 7-1?

...and the city of Los Angeles is gonna "buy " the team. Because some guy in NYC had a meeting about something. It's a done deal.

Some recent news stories on the Carolina Panthers leaving for Los Angeles:
"Panthers leaving Charlotte? It could happen" wbtv.com
"Charlotte business leader: L.A. "scares the hell out of me." Posted by Darin Gantt November 5, 2013.
quote: "Richardson, the former chairman of the leagues stadium committee (he recently stepped aside) has invested as much time in the NFL's Los Angeles process as anyone. He hosted the richest man in L.A. at a game in Charlotte earlier."

The Los Angeles mayor made overtures to Richardson on business matters over recent weeks concerning Los Angeles gaining a professional football teams for the city. Possibly even two NFL teams. And the Panthers being one of those teams is not out of the possibility for the Los Angeles sports environment there.
