I used to be a Packer fan. I've been watching Brett since his freshman year in college (including this past summer at Oak Grove High School). Met him. Knew Big Irv (a GREAT, tough guy himself) and know Bonita. He drives his daughters to school here every morning when he's in town. He's a good guy. Believe me it was the Packers that stabbed Brett Favre in the back. How do you take the best quarterback to ever play the game (and took you to 13-3 the year before) and tell him he can't even compete for a starting job? Have you ever heard a coach tell one of his players that you can't even complete to play at your position? That's just plain stupid. S-T-U-P-I-D.
As far as I'm concerned, it wouldn't bother me if Green Bay never won another game. I'me looking forward to watching Brett in at least another NFC championship. I'd love for the Vikes to make the big one, but the Saints are looking pretty unstoppable right now. I will close my comment by saying THANK YOU BRELIEGH FAVRE for talking your daddy into playing another year.

"We've moved on." said the Packers to Farve. And move on they have. They've moved on to losing to the likes of previously-winnless Tammpa Bay. If the Pack keeps "moving on" like this, the Ted and Mike show will have them playing in the Canadian League--that is if the Canadians will have them. Which they might not, because we now know that Ted has to do things his way.

I know I shouldn't gloat, but after all, when Brett wanted to sign a a premier receiver in the form of Moss, and even offered to take a salary cut to do away with payroll cap problems (in short offering to pay Moss out of his own pocket), and Ted Thompson refused, Brett had to know he was working for an egomaniacal loser. IO mean, think about it for a second. How long would it have taken Ron Wolf to sign Moss when Brett made an offer like that? A morning? Maybe even a full 24 hours? Makes Thompson look even more ridiculous.

Thank you Ted Thompson, for giving Brett Favre the career opportunity of a lifetime--to play for a superbowl contender during the waning years of his career, rather than a team created and run the GM's ego. People wonder why we had so much "drama" about Brett retiring every year? Maybe it was because Thompson was so unnpredictable. So Brett did what he had to do to go play for a tean with potential to go to the Big One, coached by a friend of his who actually knew how to run a pro football team by putting some talent together. I think you call that S-M-A-R-T.

Hey SLW: I see you quoting Patrick about Brett supposedly being loyal for life. Maybe you could get Patrick to show us that part of Favre's contract with the Packers. Has Patrick read that part of his contract? Come one Patrick, read us the clause that says Brett was supposed, as you put it, to be as "loyal to the organziation as any one of you lifelong fans", would you? Maybe it was buried in one of the incentive clauses about, "you have to remain loyal to us after you take us to 13-3 and the NFC championship at Lambeau, but we can dump you if you throw an interception on the last throw of the game, but YOU STILL have to remain loyal to us even after we dump you. Maybe that part of his contract says someting about he has to remain loyal to the Packers for life after even "that train has left the station." Admit it, Patrick, the Packers stabbed Brett in the back, just like every professional football team does to hundreds of players every year just because of ego, or because they think they can sell one more seaon ticket, or make an extra million selling #12 jerseys instead of letting everyone wear their old #4 jerseys. THAT, PATRICK, is what the Packers see as loyalty to their players, even after Brett offered to take a pay cut to sign Randy Moss. 13-3 might have been 17-0 with a Lombardi trophy if the Packer management really knew what "loyalty" was. Loyalty is offering to take a pay cut to get the guys on your team you think you can win with. Loyalty is NOT hanging around after you've been insulted, abused and told you're not wanted around here any more.

Awesome john, awesome, deep in there hearts most packer fans now know the truth. the bad management is really recking havoc on that organization. ive been throuh this. SO damm proud of farve and the vikings i can hardly stand it.
