mcclai say's "he's not vocal the way other (lb's trend to be! THAT'S HIS PROBELEM! other than his outside problems and his childish attitude. c'mon, this guy is high ranked, a high pick in the draft! but at this position if the leauge requires it? you have to be vocal. damn', wouldn't you guy have loved it if he was a replica of ray lewis? okay, so he didn't have to be exactly r lewis, but be a leader! not someone who has outside issues and child like attitudes! yeah, r lewis had outside issues but he handled it like a man! and, enjoyed the game like a man. r mcclain is a kid. i'm sure he will be a man soon. being a top draft pick and highly paid can get exciting. what sucks is, he hasn't grown to be that man yet and we are going to miss out on his future play if he gets released. looking forward, sounds like we will be looking for a top (LB) in the draft or a nice (de). whatever falls first! when we drafted mcclain, i thought we would build around this kid. now, we have to really dig deep for leadership. that's where (gm) reggie mckenzie steps in?

Funny thing is, that was supposedly his strength in college, he was their vocal leader...the he gets to the pros and loses his gift of gab???

McClain's had 3 different defensive coordinators in the 3 years he's been here. That's no diffent than a young QB going through 3 different offensive coordinators in 3 years. McClain has not had the system continuity to effectivly develop. When you change coordinators every year, you change systems, and when you have a rookie MLB, and you put him through that it's like his rookie year all over again. Since McClain seems likely done here, I kind of hope we get that MLB from Notre Dame but I really want one of those OTs from Texas A&M. They have talked about moving Wheeler to the MLB spot so who knows where we go from here.

it's obvious you don't just come in and try to take over as a leader when you are new. but learn the system and work your way up. he had that vocal experience in college so why not use it here. you know what i think it is, i think he just didn't know the position right. he was getting beat and you can't talk crap and act like a leader if your the one that is at fault a lot of the time. jamarcus russel had that problem. they wanted him to be a leader out there but he wasn't vocal enough. these two players need and needed to study hard and get their head in the books as well as on the field. they both lack that! you're the top pick! c'mon man!
