Nobody really was Since 1996, especially if they were Al Davis boys...Rickey Dudley, Darrell Russell, Charles Woodson, Janikowski, Derrick Gibson, Phillip Buchannon, and most notable Jamarcus Russell
D Russell and Woodson were good enough to make the pro bowl. Davis even bailed Sebass out of jail a few times before games and even then last year was his first Pro Bowl. Davis gave Buchannon what he wanted just because he was an electrifying performer as both a CB and PR which is what Davis loved the most. Gibson was one of the most wasted draft picks in Raider history.
There were others with good work ethics like Mo Collins, Matt Stinchcomb, Robert Gallery, Darren McFadden, Nnamdi Asomugha, Tyler Brayton, and Darrius Heyward Bey that tried but Collins and Stinchcomb's careers were both cut short with injuries. Aso made a few Pro Bowls, Galelry had the potential, but the mess he was drafted into I think is what took him too long to develop into an effective player and eventually health got to him after leaving Oakland. McFadden is just an injury bug and DHB is just a work out warrior with no talent. Brayton just blended into whatever was around him.

This was how Al won Championships in the 70's and 80's. Problem is, the game changed and you couldn't win this way...I think we have a future in Oakland....

I agree with RF here. Structure makes all the difference and I think Allen and McKenzie have something in mind here and I think they mean business.

Please stop bashing Al. You do not know what you are talking about...and please quit accepting mediocraty from the current Brass and calling it a future.

Based on Gannon's personality, I suspect he thought a lot of players were not working as hard as him.
