I'm curious....I read in the paper that Vick's fiancee wore shoes that had fur on them to the courtroom. Do you suppose it might have been dog fur?

From a very young child , I was introduced to animals, and taught their value, their importance. My Dad ( god rest his beautiful soul ), used to bring bring, find, pick up, all kinds of animals ( much to my mom's dismay, lol ) and bring them home. I never knew what I would find when I came home from where ever I was... I could walk in a have a frog in a shoe box with some kind of bedding ( little home) my dad made for him. Then there was the time he found the biggest turle I ever saw, he put it in a bucket and let me hold it and watch it walk around our house..but only for a little while , and then told me "Mr. Slow-guy" had to be put back up in the field , where he found it. I have always had a deep connection and even deeper love for animals.... all animals..but, especially dogs. I truly believe this comes from a healthy and safe upbringing , that never, ever was short of compassion and love. My heart can not stand the thought that their are poor , beautiful, defenseless creatures that are the victims of cold, calculated, and heartless individuals. I hope they never let me see them hurting one of these angels... for they will know what torture can be bestowed upon them !!! GOD BLESS OUR FOUR, FIVE, SIX, EIGHT...ETC.. LEGGED BABIES .... WE LOVE YOU

OMG, my Dad did exactly the same thing and my mother was not amused. Then with seven kids bringing home all the strays they found we always had a house full of animals. You really brought back memories, thanks.

Wasn't it great to be shown the, most beautiful things in life, by the people who loved us and knew the importance of showing us , and letting us discover the beauty of life, all life. I remember the first time I met , a horse, lol... I was so scared , but was told, go slow , hand turned backwards , let him sniff you... and go from there. The amazing beauty of meeting and getting to know, and fall in love with all of Gods creatures was, and still is , a reason to live, a reason to be happy , or get happy if you aren't . I have recently developed a relationship with a fiesty squirrel that has befriended my home .... he waits on the fence everyday , same time, for the shelled peanuts that I now must purchase ...I think he'll be around for a while..I named him "Skippy".

There is nothing quite so nice as being able to interact with an animal that seems to enjoy your company if only for a little while. However, I think I'll continue to enjoy certain animals like lions, tigers, etc. from a safe distance. Some of them seem to have learned that not all humans are nice.
