Dennis Allen repeating same clock management mistake?

Full story: SFGate

For the second time in four games, Raiders coach Dennis Allen chose to go for a touchdown when kicking a field goal late in the game might have improved his team's chances of winning a game.

he knew he wasn't going to win this game? i would have done the same thing and took my chances! it's a gamble. game on the line, your starting (qb) is hurt and the backup is rusty! no, not rusty hilger!(lol), but he must have played like him. the defense is holding up but can only hold up so long. the (O) was getting nowhere and d allen wanted a (TD) damn' it! i'm okay with that. as bad as our season has gone and as bad as this game went? nut'n wrong with going for it. what, 5 something left? at this point, it's win or lose!
we lost!(lol). but so what! i liked the chance and gamble!
the only thing that i'm upset about is that these backup (qb's) have not trained enough just "in case"? knapp was lost because of it! talk about being caught knapp-ing!

Agreed. Going for the touchdown vs. field goal was not a big deal. The playing calling, lack of a running game and the back-up QB are/were bigger concerns.

Without a doubt some of the worst play calling I've ever witnessed. Would have liked to have seen more of Pryor.

I myeslf was knapping during the game after working a night shift, but yeah I would've liked to see more of Pryor. BTW congrats on the 300+ point performance in FF Captain...I know it may be meaningless since it wasn't a playoff game, but it still goes in the record books

No mistake was made with that call. You go for the TD. You need the points to win the game. And if you make it, it gives the team so much confidence and momentum that the game is almost a guaranteed victory (not to mention the crushing of the enemies ego).

WE were not going to win the game with continued FG's.

Thanks Tex, and thanks once again for organizing the league, it is always fun! Could've used that total the week before buddy.
