The Ravens would be crazy not to sign Boller. Take a look around the NFL at the other back up QBs.

Is Boller disliked by the black members of the Ravens? Ray leading the cheers for Troy Smith before he even took a snap?

Having been one who back Kyle most of his carreer, I find that his attitude is outstanding. I don't know of any sport premodonnas playing today who would have taken the verbal shots he has taken(some deserved) and been willing to show up everyday and continue to learn and be willing to lay it out there whenever called upon to be there.
Kyle there are some of us who would like to see you succeed as a RAVEN. Hope to see you in a RAVENS uniform for the rest of your football carreer.

Ditto, Mike T. Kyle's attitude has been great all along, through his days of starting when he didn't get much fan support, to his current days as a back-up. He doesn't whine or complain, but instead uses this time as an opportunity to learn from one of the best quarterbacks in the game. What's not to like?

Kyle doesn't have the brain power to be a staring NFL QB. All he can do is run the called play to the primary receiver. He also has "happy feet". He will be a back up forever.

As a skeptic of Boller for some time, I really have to tip my hat to him. Putting him in as a starter without having a mentor to turn to had to be really rough. I can't even imagine it. And then to have the indignity to be a backup would, to me at least, be extrememly difficult. But he hasn't complained and has been a "company" man throughout his whole ordeal. There is a mental toughness about him that I didn't think he had. I truly believe with 2 years behind McNair he can still be the starting QB for Baltimore. He deserves a second chance if for no other reason then his attitude and how well he took all the negativity from the fans. He is truly inspirational.

Getting over 'Happy Feet" is to be determined. Sorry, he's not NFL material, furthermore his arm is not all that impressive. May be when he was at Cal but the DBs are all great in the NFL and you CAN NOT throw the ball up it has to be thrown through the target. Actually, the books still out, he'll most likely will get playing time with McNair's history. Time will tell, where's Al Downing when you need a quip.

I predict getting rid of Boller will turn into a bad move for the Ravens. He was inserted to early as a rookie with poor offensive coordinators and a vanilla offense. His failure was organizational not personal. He has the talent and I think learning from McNair will turn him into a better than average quarterback. For Boller's career it may be best for him to leave as I doubt Raven fans will cut him any slack - we will only regret our short sightedness when he come back with another team and beats us..

"his arm is not all that impressive"? Are you kidding me? Boller has probably the strongest arm on the team. He can throw 50 yards off his backfoot (flashback to the Panthers game). McNair is a great quarter back but we all know we can't do that. With that said I think Boller would be the best option for the team. Troy will have a chance to be great but he's not ready. The free-agent market will only net a unproven backup who has no knowledge of the system. I remember that a year and half ago everyone wanted Billick fired. Then we go 13-3 and he get's an extention. We just need to give the man a chance. Boller has shown he can be a good (yes good) quarterback. If he can stop eliminating mistakes which comes with the maturity of being a veteran quarterback he'll be fine. He's ready to play now and would be the best fit for the team. We can't afford another project like what happened when Boller first came. If it doesn't work the team will be close to rebuilding anyway so then they can just throw Troy Smith out there with the big dogs.

Boller is a back-up QB at best. I do not want him starting for the Ravens unless there is an emrgency in the QB position and the Ravens have to start him. I hope he goes to another AFC team next and becomes their starter because the Ravens will certainly win that game every time.
I don't mind keeping Kyle as a back-up, but ONLY as a back-up.

I think Kyle's biggest problem is that he neve had that experienced QB to talk to like he has now in McNair. Yes I agree his attitude has been outstanding and he has been very quiet. I know Ray Lewis has been backing Troy Smith and that is OK but it isnt Ray's say who the QB is especially that he might not be here when that time has come for a new QB. Who know McNair might come back or it could be Kyle or Troy or even Drew Olson.

Dude, he graduated from Cal. Did you even go to college? He doesn't or didn't have heart, his anxiety took over rather than athleticism. Two different things.

Besides McNair what QB has ever looked good here under Billick. If Boller goes to Denver, KC or any team with a semblance of an effective O-Line he will win. In the right situation he could be a very good QB.

Boller's teammate (Mason) is merely being kind in making those supportive remarks. Nobody on the Ravens could possibly have much faith in Boller. His road record is atrocious! He simply cannot handle the NFL pressure that comes at the QB position. His poise, and accuracy are way below par to ever amount to his draft status.

Hawkeye, you stated "Is Boller disliked by the black members of the Ravens? Ray leading the cheers for Troy Smith before he even took a snap?. I say leave the black & white issue alone. When Boller had his downers I lost my voice at the game screaming "You're better than that Boller". No matter who comes in here to our City of Baltimore and play for us Ravens, he is going to get all the support from me. I know there's been times I had a hand full of hair but I'm hell you would to but I'm not going to throw anyone under the bus. Now if he just threw the game away betting on us to lose, yeah I would have a problem with that. So Boller yes I would like for you to come back if given that opportunity.

It's crazy to even think about trading him. If the starter gets hurt who are they going to bring in. When and if he gets over the happy feet he'll be very productive. To Hawkeye from Glen Burnie, why oh why are you trying to bring race into this. Mason likes him.

How many chances does Boller need, really? He was brought in as a high pick, and really the only thing good about that was the fact that we got him along with Suggs that year. I don’t care if he graduated from Cal or Harvard, his mental ability as an NFL QB is proven to be mediocre at best. Basically, he’s shown Ravens fans that he is just not going to get the job done as a starter in Baltimore. I would not be surprised if he cobbled together a couple of so-so seasons somewhere else in the right system, but that’s speculation at best. What’s funny is that now I hear fans talking about how he should stay, how his attitude is so great, etc.– where were those supporters when he was getting booed out of the stadium while he was the starter? For the guy talking about Ray supporting the rookie QB – would it be an issue if Ray was supporting a rookie named Brady Quinn? I mean what is the team supposed to do w/a QB who could be the next starting QB for our team in the near future? Don’t forget, the defense was admirably quiet during all those years that the offense couldn’t match their intensity or ability. Anyone who doubts Ray Lewis’s commitment to this team should remember that – he didn’t rip Boller and he isn’t doing so by supporting a rookie who needs the guidance and leadership of proven veterans. Face it folks – Kyle has had chances and that’s why we’re having this discussion. He’ll hopefully go elsewhere and get a chance to start over by competing for a starting gig w/someone at the level of a Joey Harrington, perhaps. In this town, he’s done enough damage.

Here's something Chad Johnson stated in SI.

GEORGETOWN, Ky.-- The Chad Johnson Show is on, and he's loving it. Post-practice at Georgetown College, he's telling me how he's got something wild planned for the first game of the season when he scores, the Monday night opener against Baltimore. "Maybe it'll get me suspended for a game by Marvin,'' he says, but it's something he says he just has to do.

I just hope we knock his head off. I know he's trying to have fun but it just seems as though he pushes our buttons more so than anyone else.

Kyle was doomed from with the 17th selection in the draft the Ravens select Kyle Boller. He had no WR'S or pass blocking Lineman except J.O .He never had a consant vet QB to learn from and was thrown to the wolves against PITT for his 1st game. Come on and for the fan that call him happy feet if it was not for the media no of you would even would have noticed or said a thing.I'm still pissed the way 1/2 the stadium cheered when there purple jersey laid on the ground in pain. That was true fans cheering. You bunch of idiots that wanted Wright you got him and he did nothing. Kyle if you get a chance or if you read this ,no matter where you go except in the Div I will always be a fan. I would like to see you stay, I bought the original #8 right after you picked it.

I wanna like Kyle. Great arm, very tough. Once in a while he throws a great long pass, and I think "Yeah, he's got it." Then, a second later, he throws a pass behind a crossing runner, and a DB intercepts it. Or he tries to throw a little dump off pass in the backfield, and it goes directly into the ground. Or,(His fave)he throws the ball over the head of the open receiver and it's intercepted too. He does these things over and over again. That's why he's a backup. Can he get over these tendencies? Who knows? But if he doesn't he won't make a starting qb anywhere.
