Redskins star says dogfighting is OK

Washington Redskins star Clinton Portis is backpedaling from statements he made at a promotional event in Virginia Beach suggesting that dog fighting is commonplace and should not be illegal.

Maybe dogfighting is not overtly humane, but is like many old laws on the books with no current application. I doubt it is in the top 10 of the worst social ills in the region. If it is against a law in Virginia, extract the mimimum fine (if convicted) and change the law. It is certainly and inarguably far worse to kill your own child by abortion than to allow dogs to fight as "sport". If you don't agree, you're not taking your "reality" pills on schedule.
