Take 2: Edwards Era?

Last week in this space, I wrote about the "what could be" for Trent Edwards and the Bills.

I am not a big fan of J.P. Losman, or even football for that matter, but I think that the Buffalo fans, and press are showing a total lack of class in the way that they are treating this young man. Is Buffalo so hungry for a win that they are willing to put aside common decency? Why do sports fans like to see people squirm ? I think asking Losman how he feels about losing his job, while he is out for an injury, is not only premature, but bordering on cruel.

I have one thing to say to all of those who are procliaming Trent the savior after 1 game in which he played well against a team that had no game film of him in anything other than a preseason-style game plan. Rob Johnson

As for Judy's comment, it remains to be seen how they'll treat him, but if he doesn't get his job back when he's healthy to show that he might be the better QB, add the Bills coaches, especally Steve Fairchild, to the list of those without class. Going off the play-calling in those first two games, it really looks like Fairchild set him up to fail

I'm a Losman fan but I have 2 words that I'd like to mention here "Quick Release". JP struggles with this, however, Trent seems to know where to go with the ball, what his options are, and finds his hot reads fasted than JP.

I think we need to see how Edwards does on Monday Night. Since JP is still hurt, there isn't too much controversy yet. But, after the bye week if Edwards does good on MNF and JP's knee is better, then we'll be in full fledged controversy. If Edwards can beat Dallas, and he has a good game, I think you have to consider keeping him in there until he looses. Also, Raplh does not want to pay JP a big contract so if doesn't play much this year, Ralph can pay him a lot less
