If Lacy, Taylor or Ball from Wisc. are available when the Packers 1st pick comes up I would have no problem seeing one of these three taken. It is time to get a workhorse rb instead of running back by committee.

Montee Ball can be had in the 2nd or 3rd round.Remember Ron Dayne? He was a better back IMO then Ball ( both from U.of Wisconsin).
Lacy most def....Im not sure with Taylor from Stanford,he didnt really impress me in the Rose Bowl vs Wisconsin (although the announcers loved the guy and he had a real nice year).
Id almost rather draft that hard hitting safety,or that nasty Olineman/de.lineman with the 1st pick and if they really want M.Ball trade up if they are afraid he will go in the early/mid 2nd. Ball just doenst have ath break away speed and he may be a back by committee like we have.DuJaun Harris is only 5 8 205 or so,,but hes a decent at worse receiving back and i still proclaim if GB improves at LT and Bulaga is back at RT.OR Bulaga is successful at LT ( we tried that his rookie season and he wasnt that good, but, that was 4 years ago) and maybe Datko ( or we can go back to Barclay) if we can find another RT in the draft..IF we can improve that and most important the Center spot ( draft a nasty center) OR if Evan DS can improve in there, that makes the Running game better..RB can be found later on as well.I dont know, but, for every A.Peterson or sucessful RB in the 1st rounds, there are a huge amount that dont deserve that draft spot and a ton of cash for a RB and a short shelf life.
IN ALL
Id like to find that 6ft 230lb back with some speed and a FB that sits 255 or so that can reeally throw a block and both can be found mid or late.Lacy,,Yes,id go for it ( although) but otherwise. id concentrate on the lines early ( unless there is a stud Safety or a hitting quick LB)

Unless your Walter Peyton or Barry Sanders and we seen how few and far between they are

YEP rebuild the oline and we will be fine.I still like DuJuan Harris and Alex Green isnt to bad
I would love to find that 6 1 230lb back who can run ( a bit bigger then Green is) and a FB that can block and hit ( like Mike Alstot used to)A Vonta Leach type. That would be sweet and i said it from second one when they cut Leach, that would bite them.It didnt hurt them personally yet but hes prob the best blocking FB in the game today

You are right. The o-line is really where the Packers need to focus on this draft. A pass rusher at d-end would be nice as would a hard hitting db. I to like Harris at rb. Eventhough he has been cut by a couple of teams he appears to be very hungry to succeed. TT will probably take the best available player with the first pick, which makes sense. I just hope it fits a need for the team. Even with the players we have don't you think there has to be more physicality and speed, especially on the defensive side? I still wonder if a different d-coordinator wouldn't bring in some fresh ideas and make better use of the players already on the roster. I am also concerned that the offense is getting stagnant. Everyone knows this is a pass first offense, which is utilizing arguably the best QB in the NFL. But, if the Packers don't get and establish a better running game and improve the o-line I don't know if Rodgers can survive another 50+ sack season. The odds are against that. It sounds as if Jennings is gone which is fine. Injuries kept him off the field half the season last year. Now the Packers can worry about locking up Nelson, Jones and Cobb for the long haul. Wouldn't be surprised if TT finds another wr diamond-in-the-rough this draft. As much as I like AJ Hawk the Packers need an ILB who can move a lot quicker sideline to sideline than Hawk. That was evident in the 49ers playoff game. Just some of my thoughts.

There is absolutely no doubt we have to get nastier on defense.qucker LBers and another DE should help.
Good thing is,Perry is coming back as hes much quicker and bigger physical then Walden or Jones, if Bishop is healthy, that should help as well.I still like Terrell Manning adn he was a rookie so didnt get a lot of P.T. but should see more this year,so thats 3 quicker, more physical LB right there,So id concentrate on both lines and a bigger safety, although i like Sean Richardson, hes big, fast, quick and Jarron McMillian ( from what ive read) he loves to hit,he was from Maine,so not great competition but after a year in the NFL,hes obviously more accomplished then he was,so hopefully He at safety,Richardson at ST,Burnett as a backup.
both lines maybe a LB and a WR.Losing Jennings ( prob. although im starting to wonder if he will get the cash hes looking for,as cap limit is flattening out over the next few years, until the new TV deal) so teams really have to be careful over the next few years as little cap increases will effect salary and Driver gone now,so thats 2 WR,Boykins and Ross to replace those 2,but, Nelson and Jones are FA after 13 and with having to sign Mathews,Raji and ROdgers id be shocked if GB can keep both of them,SO WR should be a priority as well.IF they can somehow find that LT and better Center that makes the RB better and Harris adds something that some havent and Green isnt go bad, but, id like to find a bigger back later in the draft AND a FB who is a bit bigger then Kuhn and a better blocker adn someone who can catch a pass no and then to change things up.
I agree with Capers ( funny all the fans want Capers out but the experts say who can GB get who is better then Capers?) i dont know but Capers did a lousy job of adjusting vs SF and next year,we have SF ( Kaperenek) Washington ( RG III) Baltimore ( and there physical and quicker bigger qb) Philly ( Mike Vick) NYG ( Eli Manning) Pitts ( Rothlesburger and i know i hacked his name, sorry big ben),SO in short a good amount of good teams ( including both SB teams this past year,3 or 4 teams in the Championship games and teams that were good enough to make the playoffs that didnt like Pitts.NYG ect adn they all have either a great qb or a qb like the Kaperneks or the RGIII of the world,so the defense better get faster, quicker, more physical and stronger or the offense better develop a better running game and GB had better score a record setting amount of points because we will be giving up a ton of them.

PBWK,,,Thought id also add,i enjoy your comments and respect your opinions and glad your here and commenting on the site! ITs great not having the drama, fighting and the BS that goes with it all and chatting with a great Packer fan!!!
I still say TT will get it done.GB is still young, should be hanging around for quite a few years to come BUT, Minnesota is catching up (good for them, they are doing a fine job of rebuilding the ship up there, although im not to sure about trading Percy Harvin,IMHO it would be a mistake, but, i dont know the ins and outs, maybe Percy doesn't want to be there,or the coach doesn't,who knows)But keep in mind a lot of guys TT brought in last year to improve the defense is coming back ( Perry esp) Bishop coming back and a few of the guys like Daniels,McMillian,Manning will get more P.T. so hopefully TT can hit on an Olinemen

We need to improve the Oline play I agree, so who should we keep and who should go or be added depth?

Bulaga?
Sitton?
EDS?
Lang?
Newhouse?
Sherrod?

I think Bulaga and Sitton stay for sure, and probably Lang too (played pretty well until he had a few injuries).

EDS knows the offense and can play C short term until a replacement is ready unless he proves himself worthy. EDS should get a shot he only got to start a few games at C after taking over for Saturday. I thought the Packers plan was for EDS to take over at C.
LT is up in the air with Newhouse being medicre and Sherrod a question after a horrible injury. Maybe Bulaga can move to LT and Barclay can play RT but this is a maybe.

I keep EDS for depth. We need to either draft a LT or move Bulaga to LT and use Barclay or Datko or draft a RT.
We should keep everyone ( Obviously) until we see who can play.
Sherrod started slow and was getting better before breaking the leg and missed a whole season and who knows if he will ever be the same or play again or we can pencil in ( or write it in PEN) to start him at LT.At the end of the day.
A NEW LT or Bulaga,,Datko,Barclay or D.P. at RT,,,Lang and Sitton LG and RG and a new center.
EDS depth at Center or Guard,,Draft pick Guard/Tackle depth and Newhouse depth Guard/Tackle..
Sherrod ( prob. PUP,then released injury settlement is my guess)
Id love if TT traded our 1st this year and next year and moved up into the top 10 and grabbed a LT OR signed Jake Long but dont count on either one. We need to sign both Lines early for starters and late for depth or development for the future.
