Fund it with revenue from a "racino". The Indians that get the money hardly share with their own people any way, screw em. If you don't support the stadium, don't gamble in MN then.

I agree 100%. Do people remember what downtown St. Paul was like before we built the X and got the Wild? If not for that new arena none of those newer bar's and restaurants would have ever opened. Guess what? They do create jobs and bring money in. I know it sucks helping out millionaires, but everyday we pay for scum bags that suck off of our welfare system. Who would you rather support?

Oh they'll leave like the Nstars, Lakers, etc. Maybe the owner should build a stadium but not let anyone else make money from it - all the vendor money and taxes, all the player's income taxes, all the hotel taxes, etc. etc. WAKE UP - there's a reason why SUCCESSFUL cities all have teams and stadiums - THEY BRING IN MONEY! Stop being class jealous and realize that the fact that zygy has a team here benefits us ALL - he's not the only one who gains from it. If you don't like it then don't buy tickets, don't stay in hotels near the stadium, don't eat in restaurants near it - that's where the "tax" money comes from to pay it. I love how all you nay sayers want him to build his own stadium but you sure like to "own" the team for bragging rights, you sure buy the tshirts and watch the games. I think I DO get something even more than the tax money the team brings in. I'm for a new stadium or whatever it takes to keep them here. The NFL will not let them stay in an outdated stadium - the dome.

F*** that. Make them bring home a Super Bowl trophy first. Then maybe we can talk about a stadium. I knew we would be hearing this crap.
No championship = no stadium. This team has been disappointing me my entire life... and that is getting close to 50 years now.

At least the Twins have brought us a some championships. The Vikings don't deserve a stadium yet.... they are the embarrassment. Great season so far, but I have seen this show a few times before. Spend some more money on some serious talent, Ziggy.

Oh, just had thought... maybe Franken or Klobuchar could slide the funding into that 2,000 page health care bill. There has got to be a bunch of stuff in there no one will catch until it is way too late.

If the ardent viking fans want a new stadium, open your wallets and pay for it. Taxpayers have ponied up for enough boondoggles.

That would be a slightly larger version of Sioux Falls SD. Little House on the Prairie, that state between the dakotas and Wisconsin. Wisconsin will look like New York compared to Minnesota. You think Wisconsin makes fun of Minnesota now? Wait until you miserly idiots lose the Vikings. You'll just be another little town on the way to Wall Drug. That better not EVER happen you bunch of liberal sports haters. EMBARRASSING.
So, do you just consider calling people Liberal as a general insult? Cuz spending money and raising taxes for special interest projects isn't very conservative.

Except that 10 games a year at the dome isn't enough to support those bars/resturants. It would basicly just drive existing buisnesses (if there are going to be any left after the twins and gophers left the dome) to schedule more people on those game days.

Neither is having the best program for free money in the country for dirtball citizens of Chicago who travel to Minnesota for welfare benefits, which liberals prefer over sports spending that actually might make money in the end. But what sense would that make?

Like any other venue built by a sports team, sports are not the only events held in them. Concerts, civic events, etc.

Only if it gets a retractable roof, which is not going to happen.

So says you. You make the rules for an imaginary stadium already? Did the Anti-Stadium Fairy put you in charge of assessing other uses for stadiums?

Considering the retractable roof adds 300 million to the price tag and we just went threw all of this with the new Twins Stadium, I would like to think that I have learned from recent history.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Gemini

If you're currently keeping something secret it will really start to prey on your mind today and you'll worry about blurting it out at the wrong moment. It's one of those days in which you're absent-minded and completely wrapped up in your own thoughts. As a result, it will be hard to concentrate on anything else and this won't go down well in certain quarters.
