First of all, one year is not enough for a head coach. This football team has been major turmoil for too long and one year is not long enough to fix it. Tom Cable was actually given time to turn things around and he did only to be shown the door anyways. Hue Jackson did well in the begining picking up where Cable left off, but eventually had the locker room divided and after Al's passing Mark hired a GM that wanted "his own guy in" and that pretty much means back to square 1.

Rolando McClain was a good center piece to build a defense around but with a new staff, it means a new vision (if there was ever one to begin with) and it's pretty much the same thing that happened in Denver with Tim Tebow

My chopping block is Greg Knapp, Jason Tarver, Michael Huff, Darius Heyward-Bey, all the right tackles, and Cooper Carlisle for sure. Then look for potential replacements for Darren McFadden, Richard Seymour, Tommy Kelly, Carson Palmer and now apparently Rolando McClain.

i think players don't respond well to d allen.
a coach has to impress even with a first bad season.
show promise, show strength show confidence. not even r mckenzie has good relation with players. they're all afraid of being cut for lesser money!(lol) they're not afraid of losing their job because of performance! i know d allen has a good chance of staying but i don't see anything on him as a future coach here. i hope i'm wrong cause i want to see my team win. i mean, even next season can't look like this one. or the next one with the same coach! BUT, he's here to stay and i wish him the best. for our sake!

i'm starting to believe all the coaches will stay and a shhh-load of players will either be released or traded.
right? that will probably make it "their team", the "new era team" the team "they" put together. that way there are no excuses!

Agree on the first part. It is disappointing that the coaches seem to be blaming "the players". That would have never happened "publically" on Al's watch. It also shows denial on the part of DA and McKenzie. Making things work, includes the current players. Replacing players, just brings on more of the same and reduces moral in the long term, season after season. Not good.

right now i think d allen trusts m leinart more than he does pryor as a backup. and mckenzie wants to see more of pryor but he will let the coach make those decisions

That's usually what happens when you have a whole new management...They want to do things their way and because Al Davis overvalued players who were underperforming, it was a mess that McKenzie inherited and now all he's trying to do is clean it up and until there are WINS, I don't think he will value any player in particular.

i know i talk a lot of crap (no really!)(lol), but in reality, i do hope mckenzie gets it together and does things his way so that if it looks good by next season or the next? we will give him a standing ovation.
all i ask is for wins or close wins with a lot of effort. that's all i wanted this season and it would have been ok with whatever he inherited. cause to me? i don't care how bad the team was,(actually?) it wasn't that bad!? he could have brought this team to the playoffs somehow. he can't just come in and say, this season we are not going to the playoffs because i haven't really taken the time to find the right coaches and because i am going to clean house. so just sit back and be upset because im trying to do things my way. "unquote"
see? every season has to be competetive even if you are new. that's what change is for. isn't it nice when a coach comes in and you see a "good" "positive" difference? we didn't see that here! so, okay, he pissed me off for half the season cause it makes no sense to be mad anymore. but now? starting next season, i just want to see promise. we don't have to go to the superbowl, but, just promise. or pllayoffs at the least. "F" this loooong haul bullshhh. get it going! that could have put a different perspective on him from the beginning.

I could not disagree with you more. Did Al Davis overvalue players? No. Did he overpay them, sometimes. But that was a Yankee-thing, a salary cap manipulation-thing. It was Al's way. As far as McKenzie inheriting a mess? Check that. McKenzie created this mess. He created this mess by creating the "P-Aints"; the "P"acker offense and the S"aints" defense; and the "P-Aints" ain't getting the job done. Let's remember that this team was the best team in the Division last year. The year before, they beat each team in the Division twice to go 8-0. McKenzie inherited a near playoff team and then rolled out the salary cap excuse and lack of draft picks wagon at the start of his campaign. Didn't that send a message to the team? Didn't that send a message to the fans? That takes us back to beginning of Al Davis overpaying and maniupulating the salary cap to bring a perceived winner each and every season. Its too bad. I think Al intended for the Raiders to continue doing things his way, the Raiders way. Instead it is the Oakland Paints.

8-0 that year in the division (2010)...just couldnt beat anyone else outside of it other than the sorry Rams and Seahags...no consistancy...
