This is Allen proving to the "doubters" that he is not a complete moron.

yea, and you know? there is still that competition thing going on. but smart thing is to continue with production. you want pryor? fine, but eaz his way in if you already have a proven starter at hand. palmer is still to take a pay cut and i'm sure he will, for a "sure" start. or? someone may still make an offer he can't refuse. see, d allen is smart. had he started t pryor, he may have sabotaged his job. this way, he knows at least palmer can throw and complete a pass and win games and his job's chances are more safe. hopefully the team gets better and it helps palmer. not against pryor starting, just, not for it! there will bea (qb) competition if palmer is still here. i don't see any problem palmer winning it.

People were foolish thinking Pryor is a better start this season. Pryor may turn out to be good. But Palmer is better right now. If Pryor is smart, instead of pissed he should embrace it and learn pocket passing. If he could learn pocket passing and only run if ABSOLUTELY necessary he will not only have a my h longer career but also be better for the ream.

I think that if something happens to Palmer and Pryor plays well in his abscense, then Pryor will be our guy and Palmer's days are done or if Palmer struggles and Allen needs a different spark he could try Pryor

Either way I think Palmer entering the season as the starter is the smart move.

trust me if palmer was to injure, i hope pryor plays like if he was the main starter. and in reality, if that was the case, i wish or wonder if if it were weird that the situation happened like it did in san fran with smith and kaepernick? all i gotta say is, learn all you can pryor! "just in case" you get your chance, you may get to keep the job? ya never know?! BUT, the only way they have taken palmer out is if they break his bones!

Agreed, and lest we forget, this is how Tony Romo, Tom Brady and Kurt Warner started their careers.

I think Palmer getting injured is our biggest worry.....especially if the O-line doesn't improve. An injuring taking Palmer out of a game (or the season) is a very real possibility.

If that happens, I hope TP is ready.

I'LL TELL YOU WHAT? he has big reason to say no to a pay cut! this guy can easily be picked up elswhere and make the money he is said to make. "if" he does decide to take a pay cut, they better barely shave that cut and guarentee him the start. oh yea, betcha that's what they're talking about right now or, HE'S WALKIN'!

Don't forget Steve Young, Ben Rothlesberger, and I think Phillip Rivers too...There was somebody else from the 90s I can't remember who though but I know he went on to win a Superbowl...

I think part of me is not sold on the running qb. I know the league is no king that way. But how long before lots of injuries and shortened careers will dictate pocket passing the way to go? Call me old school, but I prefer watching pocket passing qb's duel. The running qb is fun to watch for a couple plays. But I find myself getting agitated and screaming at the TV...PASS THE FREAKIN' BALL!!!!
