Full story: Chico Enterprise-Record

Chicoans stepped up to Thrill the World Saturday evening, and if the sea of slow, swaying bodies was any indication, they didn't disappoint.

@Ishi

It must really suck to be you. So angry, sad, left out.

As for me, I knew zombies were going to take over Chico one day. Time to activate my zombie plan! What? You don't have a zombie plan too?

Another great talent goes down in flames. He was OK at first but ended up as a standard issue entertainment nut case, druggie, with a lot of personal problems. I'm not to sure that we should be using our children to pay tribute. Let him fade already.

I knew that revamping City Plaza was a bad idea. First you have the homeless taking over the place and now we have the living dead there. Doesn't this disturb any of you that Chico now has zombies? Based on posts from other articles, I would like to blame this on the City Council, the police department and Obama. Oh well, I hope they got enough zombies to dance at the same time that they at least broke a record.

MJ was a great talent in his earlier days and even though he looked like a zombie in real life, his singing/dancing came through just fine. It's too bad this column accepts such trash as Ishi writes and then MF fan follows that route. Not much of a tribute to MJ.

The Thriller show was a lot of fun. The dancers were pretty good for dead people. I am a little disturbed that there was a voter registration booth from ACORN signing those people up.

What was the purpose for the gathering? Why is it that people will gather for something like this, yet not for real IMPORTANT things? This looked like a lame event.

You complainers ar effing lame! It's about fun and entertainment. You probably aren't a friend of the arts or performing, so just go listen to Rush Limbaugh or something. Your opinions don't even count!

Beware of such simple antics.

Transfer
Also known as Association, this is a technique of projecting positive or negative qualities (praise or blame) of a person, entity, object, or value an individual, group, organization, to another to make the second more acceptable or to discredit it. It evokes an emotional response, which stimulates the target to identify with recognized authorities. Often highly visual, this technique often utilizes symbols (for example, the Swastika used in Nazi Germany, originally a symbol for health and prosperity) superimposed over other visual images. An example of common use of this technique in America is for the President's image with his own logo.
A slogan such as "Change" can be used as Intentional vagueness
Generalities are deliberately vague so that the audience may supply its own interpretations. The intention is to move the audience by use of undefined phrases, without analyzing their validity or attempting to determine their reasonableness or application. The intent is to cause people to draw their own interpretations rather than simply being presented with an explicit idea. In trying to "figure out" the propaganda, the audience forgoes judgment of the ideas presented. Their validity, reasonableness and application may still be considered.

I'm really surprised at all the anti performance comments. It was just a fun thing. I didn't see any I love you MJ posters or buttons, just people having fun.
I'm beginning to understand why some of you would like to ban people from the park. It just drives you nuts that other people might be having fun.

I thought MJ molested children? Didn't he pay out millions to get his thing out of trouble? How is it that he is now some great icon? Very troubling! Please read my above post about propaganda and mass-media brainwash.

Robert Wagner was a devout anti semite but his music is played at the philharmonic in Jeruselem.

Mitsubishi made really nice fighter aircraft during WWII that killed American soldiers and airmen. Yet they sell us lots of cars.

The Romans murdered hundreds of thousands of slaves and prisoners but also invented the hot tub but I bet Alpha has never used one.

Alpha lives in Sacramento and apparently doesn't care that it was once Indian lands the Mexico's

Alfred Nobel invented dynamite which was used to kill thousands in construction and war but also founded the Nobel Prize Committee.

One of Obamas advisers stated bublicly that he admired Harry Hays, a poster boy for NAMBLA.

I could go on all day with this but AlphaBeta won't get it because he chooses not to.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Aries

Don't get embroiled in a bad-tempered skirmish today, for it might turn into more than that if you aren't careful. Everyone seems to be ratty and argumentative, but once you let the first spat take place it's effectively declaring open season. Even though things seem out-of-joint, keep your lines of communication open.
