One update says 900 acres, outside Camp Swift 5 homes abandoned/evacuated - 10:30 PM, another says 100 acres (former is closer to truth)
Hwy 290 definitely closed from FM 696 to (?)Three Oaks/Old Hwy 20 toward McDade, some voluntary evacuation in Little McAcres subdivision.
News doesn't care about country folks, already stated "uninhabited area" although there are several small subdivisions, and an unincorporated town very nearby.
I am (hopefully) about 6 miles away, but with the hot dry conditions who knows? God bless the volunteers from ours and neighboring VFD's and all the Guardsmen who are there in it and at it, and law enforcement out there in the dark.
