Kids see porn instead of Star Wars

That sure wasn't Luke Skywalker and his Lightsaber. Some Maryland school kids were supposed to see a DVD of "Star Wars," but the fifth-graders got a glimpse of a porn movie instead.

Like they haven't seen this stuff before. Today's young teenagers are having oral sex in hallways and wherever else they can get away with it; they are drinking and smoking when they can. I would imagine that a lot of parents whose kids viewed this dvd will heartedly protest and wage war against the school, but honestly, those same parents probably have no clue what their kids are up to anyway behind their backs.

Totally agree! As a former school employee, I used to be appalled at teachers showing all manner of animated movies (usually on Friday afternoons). How can they justify this as educational? BTW, most of them were movies the kids had already seen. I can understand Discovery Channel and History Channel movies, but Little Mermaid and Aladdin? Ridiculous!

The Star Wars soundtrack is rated as one of the best movie tracks of all time.

George Lucas in 1977 used an orchestra during a time when other films dropped this kind of music. The work is at its best when viewing the film and would probalby help with making the students listen top the work.

Now lets not worry about why they were going to watch the movie and wonder why the film was not previewed by the staff first. That is mandatory in most schools.

May West(an old time movie actress)said it best.It's ok to show gangster movies,war movies,cowboy and indians-people being killed,but show some skin,love making and all hell breaks loose.Newspapers,tv news channels show such horrible scenes,accidents,war casualties and not so much critisim,show sex and "OMG!".Violence is ok to show children but sex is'nt.In this country there are nudist resorts for families,foreign countries have nudity on tv,natives in the amazon have nude people,all of which does'nt seem to upset teens.How many brothers and sisters see each other at home nude somewhere along the line?The movie "Saving Private Ryan" shows grafic scenes and I hear of 8yr.olds talk about it.

A lot of what we find special about American culture, is God, fighting and apple pie. So it doesn't surprise me that we would not be so freaked out in general to violence, than seeing love making, or the more nasty way of saying filmed love making-porn. If you come at it that peace and love is good, it better not be filmed. Taping wars and such just makes for better Americans.
