So what, you said that's what he enjoys.
Does he disrespect what you get excited over?
If he has employed you and is paying you.
You should be thankful and show gratitude.
Or, look for work elsewhere.
If he's not paying you and you're just "helping" him to be kind. Disrespecting what he finds entertaining behind his back is demeaning to you. It says a lot about your character.
Either way, you're being disrespectful and ungrateful.
<quoted text>
You're probably ripping him off and not "helping" him since you're hurrying.
<quoted text>
Then let him know how you feel and see how that works for you.
"If" your story is true, someone should let him know how you truly feel about "helping" him.
<quoted text>

So what you're sayin' is, you handled their balls but you didn't actually play football.
I have a feeling, you were picked last on the playground and that left a mark. Or, your story is complete bullshit.
Wow there!Too many assumptions. Ask first. What I do is not for pay. I am not employed by him and he has no interests with what I like. I got to know him through a friend. I would visit him because he had few visitors. I always got along with older people and my own age. He was 84 when we became friends. I would visit before games aired. Go home when about to come on. As he had to go to a nursing home I thought he would be there permanately. 2 months he was released. So some safty features needed to be in place. I did those. Free. While there doing this work he'd have the sports on. So I hurried to finish without losing quality. In other words, I'd get the job done but instead of lingering yo chat,I 'd leave by having excuses so not to have him feeling hurt. If he was younger I'd tell him I have no interest. At his age,why hurt the old guy? I'm on disability. Limited endurance. My doctor dsid I had much damage to joints. Asked if I played too much sports. I said no. I was so physically active it caused much damage. Still I do things for people like I do for the old guy. Sometimes they insist on paying me something. His nephew insisted om paying me for assembling a stationary recumbent bike for his uncle. A wopping $10. I make breakfast-lunch-dinner everyother day. Another neighbor does the days I'm not there because her and I have ailments. No one is being taken advatage of.

one of my ailments is neuropathy. Sometimes trouble guiding my hands/fingers. Plus I'm on a cell phone with internet access and the letters real close together. Anyone with such phones knows this. So it takes too long to keep going back over hitting the right keys. So I let it be. The ailments limit my time. Why you see gaps in time from my last postings. Shoulders begin yo tingle like an electric tingle, starts to be painful,then radiates heat. Tomorrow going in for tests to determine cause of new pains shooting into arms and legs. So yeah a few mistakes while typing. Just so you know.

I did senior caretaking 14 yrs. Not as an employef job. Gor my parents, 2 grandmothers. Last time was 19 months ago. 2 brothers and 4 nephews,2 sister in laws. None of them helped. The whole load on me. I tire of it. Now I have this 88 yr old. Along with my gtowing physical problems. He does'nt remember what teams ate playing nor the score despite telling him repeatedly. Asks me while I'm handling his affairs with health care visitors that are mandatory upon leaving a nursing home. He interupts necessary buisness. On top of that he repeatedly tells me about his past I heard 100s of times while having no interest in mine. So I do what I can as fast as I can to unwind and tske care of myself and my buisness. He wants me to stay to keep him company. If he respected me to wat h a show or 2 I like,I'd stay longer. But those sports drive me away.

Yesterday I went with my neighbor to S.S.administration because she did'nt get her monthly income. She had a nervous breakdown. On various medications. She asked me to go and speak for her. Another senior seeking my help. No pay. Compensation is having favors returned. So she goes on snd on about her daughters not talking to her. Losing her job and bring lonly. I have 2 seniors neefing my help. Very little enjoyable company for me. Only one friend that I can enjoy a god time with and that time is sporatic. Most my day is tending needs. Not much socializing because of helping others. More like I'm the one being taken advantage of. I live alone. Do everything. Cook,clean,repair,sew,pay bills,handle my own buisness. Then do it for others because they can't do basic things. That neighbor us 67yr old and can't balance her checkbook! Gets warning notices on due bills and saying she don't remember getting them. If I got psid I'd be doing much better financially.

Just so Joe Torre has a better insight to my dealings with older people. Anyone who was "voluntered"into the role of cartaker understands the frustrations of a 24/7 job for long time periods and on top if thst have to subjected to whatever it is being watched by the one bring cared for that the caretaker does'nt like. Its heartbreaking yo see once sttong people dwindling before your eyes on a daily basis. Now this old guy I need to be there less,not more. Brings back too soon the memories of having watch my last parent die. 19 months ago. I thought no more caretaker role. Had enough. Now I find myself in that role again. He has a big screen TV with volume up while sports are on. Glad to get the days jkb done to leave.

LOL!!! I see life that way. We all have a part in making things work. Our economy depends on various jobs done. The team work of society. The injured athletes in school who will play video games then go beat up on nerds/geeks tbat enable the injured athletes play while recuperating. They don't regonize that teamwork. And they emphysize teamwork!

Well, you have neither, so why don't you just STFU and clean out your trailer? It's Spring, you know.

Just as I started this forum,to look for honest replies to a question. To have a discussion on a topic of widespread interests. Hoping others would enjoy placing their thoughts. Not open season for hunting. Glad I use camoflaged name!

There will always be shit disturbers, those that like to turn anything into a brawl, then blame others for turning the thread into a pissin' contest.
I often spell words wrong. Most of it to see what responce is to come. One can be be measured in character that way.

It seems when they find no fault in a message or know a person is right,look for any means to belittle. Spelling is an easy way. I, not so concerned with it. Doctors professors,newspapers have misspelled. Wonder how they deal with real problems.

<quoted text> I agree wholeheartedly. The basic object is to hit hard your opponets. I see it all as a modern version of the Roman colosium. Where people fought to the death. Todays stadiums modeled after the Roman colosium! I see sports as a modern day outlet to unleash pent up anger. A socially acceptable way to vent hostilities. Guised as entertainment.

Need to leave. Bedtime early tonight. Lots to do tomorrow. Go to doctors for tests. Go to the bank. Pay bills. Go to store. Go to help the senior. Go to hardware store. By then worn out. Be home because when school lets out,kids get rowdy. I live 1/4 mile from a school. Police even escort them along. That's 2:30 pm I need to be home.Good night! Or nite or nyte or neite or nyite?
