At age 58, I still cannot understand all the rage over guys chasing balls. I been helping this old guy-88yr old and watches sports all day. Gets excited over it. I think as with anyone else. SO WHAT? He isn't a part of the team. He is not playing the game. He is not even at the stadium. Does sports improve a city? No. Does it lower taxes? No. Taxes just went up. Does it lower crime? No. Does it mean the fans are better than the fans if an opposing team when winning a game? No. When a team wins the fans go crazy as IF they were on the field and won. They did'nt. They were either in the stadium or home watching. Not playing. To me sports is extremely boring! That constant roar of fans, the babbling voice telling everyone what's going on even though they can see for themselves. I hurry to get the jobs done for that senior so I can get away from the game he has on TV. Has it loud to. I rather hear the electric drill I was using to drown out the sports. I never got an answer as to why sports are so big with fans. Can someone tell me why its so exciting to them or you?

I like to watch sports because i was always too portly to actually play the game, so watching it is the next best thing.

Just think, if you had a hobby like sports you wouldn't constantly get ripped off by your neighbor and her friend on Easter.

your post has only one meaning. Insults. First- I have several hobbies and that occupies my free time. Second, where do you get that I'm "constantly ripped off" by my neighbor? This past Easter was the first time without being with family. Same for them. So we got together. Sports is year round, not just holidays. So,you following me on other posts. You should watch more sports then to keep from being nasty and direct your anger there.

Coloradochick I admire. She rather do something to improve life issues. Better than sitting in a stadium/bar/home watching sports that accomplish nothing.

Some sports are rubbish like Cricket,Baseball,American football,Formula 1.(each to his own)
But I like to appreciate just how good certain individuals are at a given sport.Lionel Messi,Roger Federer,Tiger Woods,Phil Taylor, etc, etc. It's like art when you watch them on top of their game. What are your hobbies by the way?

Ok,I can see that. Good answer. I playef sports now and then. Playing sports can be fun when actually playing a game. Interacting with friends I understand. If not physically able to play,I can underdtand. However I never get anywhere near excited as they do. Now I'm not physically able to play. Never was much for playing. I was a football manager in junior high school. An attempt to be part of a team to try to underdtand sport enthusiasm. After all these years I still don't get excited over sports. Fans don't own teams, fans don't get trophies, sport players most likely don't care about your life.

That's whay you have a JOB.

Sports is entertainment, not a life's journey, unless you are a professional athelete.

I know what you mean about not liking sports, in high school (which is my most recent school and sports activity experience) I ran track and did volleyball, but that's about it, and I never dated the sports jocks they all seem to be a bunch of mouth breathers to me. I went for the science nerds!
