I don't agree their parents knew, even if they were wicca.
Rule of return/three affects everyone whether they see it or understand it. You absolutely get what you give.

Someone mentioned that these girls weren't raised right. Perhaps, and it might have compounded the problem of some of the reasons why these girls did what they did. Just the same, that doesn't necessarily have to be the reason. They probably would have had the predisposition to kill no matter what their family backgrounds. Even if this incident had never happened, they would have likely went on to harm or kill someone else eventually. It's good to know the victim didn't die and I hope she doesn't sustain life long damage from her injuries. What a horrible thing to happen when you're just 12. So disturbing that 12 year old children could do resort to something so evil and cruel.

You might be right, but have you not notice how society has changed how kids behave? Unfortunately that fall square in the parents lap.
Whether they be Wiccan, Baptist, or even Pagan .... it's become a world where kids are influenced by TV, Internet, and lack of parent supervision. My kids aren't perfect, but they knew right from wrong at the tender age of 12.
Very sad story.

I agree. Times have changed, but there were incidents of child murderers even a century before. If a child is already troubled or mentally unbalanced, anything can trigger a catastrophe. Many think that Elliot Rodger, the son of a Hollywood director, murdered because he was a spoiled pampered indulged brat. No doubt that Elliot lived a privileged life, but so do many other kids and young adults and none of them commit such crimes. In fact, many of them go on to become professionals in various fields and live normal lives. As for various religions and beliefs such as Wicca, Baptist, Satanism, etc., I don't know enough about those beliefs but I can imagine they would have some influence on children being raised in such an environment. But to go as far as murder? I think it takes something more then that to make a child go as far as to murder. If the girls were mentally, physically or sexually abused over the years, it's a possibility they could have developed deep psychological disturbances over time. I'm not a professional so I couldn't really know for certain, but I think they did have the predisposition to hurt others without the influence of an idol or fictitious character. It's something that's in their psyche and brain that may have formed before they were born. All it took to bring out their violence that was waiting to surface, was something they use for an excuse to murder - "Slender man."

I believe so. Myth and logical don't belong in the same word.
