I live far away from Chicago, and when I visit I usually make it up there in the summer. So, I haven't been for awhile. I have looked for tickets when they come down to NC. They played each other really during the season, tho, this year. They play again one more time, but it is in Chicago.
I have been to some games, tho. One of my earliest memories is being at old Chicago stadium, with my dad and his boss, eating cracker jack.
The blackhawks were really bad the last 10 years I lived, there, though. Old man Wirtz was a miser and games weren't usually televised, because he thought no one would come see them play in person if they could watch them on their tv. Didn't want to pay for good players, either. Just really antiquated thought. His son Rocky owns the team now and is a much better owner.
What do you mean they have been bad...do you remember the year, when they beat my beloved Flyers, for the Stanley Cup...OUCH...that one hurt...it took me quite a while to get over that one...

I moved away from the Chicago area 7 years ago. They had sucked for awhile before I moved.

They are on right now ... Losing to CO 2-1. They just scored a goal to make it closer.

I am a VERY loyal Flyers fan...I bleed Orange and Black...but I will call them out...if they are not playing up to their potential.
I really Don't care for the Penguins...they don't play like a team...it's all about Crosby...the weasel...btw, I wonder what brand of lipstick he wears...I think it's Cover Girl...you know...Easy, Breezy Cover Girl...LOL
I won't lie to you.

I really want to see the Stanley Cup on parade down Broad Street.

But if the Flyer's gave their all and came up short, I'd still applaud their effort. In hockey, there is still a lot of luck involved in the game.

As for the Penguins - well. that was a small market team on the verge of collapse until Lemeiux and Jagr brought them back from the brink.

And they were able to pull talent to make them contenders and profitable again.

But the whole Crosby as the next Gretzky to be a sport superstar like Michael Jordan for basketball... that was all the marketing PR from the advertising dept to generate buzz.

I swear I could detect there was a bounty on Crosby's head. Not to take it, but $100 for every time some sports news at 11 o'clock or on a hockey round up on ESPN just mentioned his name.

My boss started a team in Klumbis, Ahia. H did a survey on what to name the new team. Columbus is know to be a cowtown and during that time there was a new disease in our beef. The majority selected "The Columbus Mad Cows." The boss decided on "The Columbus Bluejackets."

Islander fan here.....

Hockey is the only sport I follow, love the game.
Buddy of mine just talked me into playing deck hockey again. Haven't held a stick in my hand in over 20 years, should be interesting.

As I said...if they don't play up to their potential...I will call them out. Last night they won against Buffalo, but I wouldn't say it was their best game.
As for the Penguins...I remember when they came close to leaving Pittsburg...they are fair weather fans...gee, I can't wait until the Olympics start...and we have to put up with Mike Emerick and Pierre McGuire...they are more than I handle...

Columbus has really made great strides this Season...for the life of me...I don't know WHY, the Flyers, traded Bobrosky...he showed such talent...plus, he's a team player. We traded the wrong Russian...and we paid for it...no lol

Well, I'm not going to criticize the Flyers/Buffalo game but it demonstrates that even the worst team in hockey can beat the best on a given night.

In the playoffs, they have to do that more than once. And how many times has the number 8 seed knocked out the number 1?

But I can't hate the Penguins as a team. Given the choice of a PA team against a NY team, I'll root for Pitt.

What I don't like is the NHL trying to promote and isolate superstar like basketball as if that's the only player that matters on the ice.

And the NHL was definitely trying to do that with Crosby like they did with Gretzky.

Forget it, Jake. It's Philly goal tending...

At the beginning of the season, I was expecting the Flyers to score a lot and get scored on a lot.

Imagine my surprise the Flyers have two good goalies at the same time. And that the first 20 games they couldn't buy a goal from anywhere.
