Gunner wrote: <quoted text> Could very well be. The point I was making was taking an underage child to get a tat, and at the same time putting people down for letting them do things underage. Either you agree with protecting your child or you don't. Seems like if it's some one else, she's agreeable to enforcing the law. If it's her child, not so much. A tat on a minor child IS a crime. You can't say: The child wanted it..b/c a minor child can't make a lifetime decision. And tats are for life. Very different than piercing a minors ears. For one thing ear piercing is not dangerous and for another you can take the earrings out and the piercings grow up. With tat ink the child could very well have an allergic reaction to it.

They say after a year or two peircings will grow over, but I went three years without wearing any earings, and bought some recently in South Dakota, and put them in ear, mind you had to push a bit on one ear...lol!

My daughter will be 15 in July and she's been harassing me recently for a tat. That's just not going to happen.....lol I let her dye her hair. And she always chooses colors not seen in nature. It's been purple, pink, right now blue/black, and if I let her...neon green. But it fades out b/f she gets a chance to get bored w/it. Now she's wanting a piercing on her lip. Her father and I are still trying to figure out if we are going to allow this.....?

I held my ground... I wasnt making a permanant decision for them.. period... if they got it when they were 17 and 11 months, if I consented, and they ended up hating it,, it would be my fault.. nuff said... wait til your 18...

She got her first tat at age 14, but hey, she was working on her own, and it is her life, as I told her. When my son got his at 16, she was 26, and me 50, it was mothers day, and his birthday, so it was a family thing..lol! We all love our tats, and got them with great thought put into them. My brother took my daughter to get ear pierced when she was four,(I did not approve it), and she was so pissed that only one ear got done, and when she got a moment that one came out, and she has just recently got it re-done. Tough call when they are teens, girls more so...the biggest tantrum,,,is "you don't let me do anything", then dramatics...lol! Good luck, and if you are cool with it, stick to your guns, it may be in the long run, something your daughter may thank you for. Usually is. With my kids,,,not so,,, as I said, no regrets, we love our tats, I only have one so far, but girl, has four, and son three. I am going to go get bf initials tatooed on me. Do us all a favor...CLOSE YOUR LEGS! Ooooo, that smell!!!!

I have a quarter sized yellow rose on my left ankle. I got it after my best friend died so it means something to me and I still like it. I got it when I was 21. I'm not a really strict mother and I'm not against tats and piercings. Some I think are cute. I got her ears pierced b/f she was a yr old. But if she really wants a tat she can get it after she turns 18. Then if she regrets it .. it's all on her. lol I'm not sure if I'd get any mans initials/name tattooed on me. I wouldn't even get my husbands and we've been married for 23 yrs. haha
