Tally .... a lot of stuff that goes on in this world is ridiculous.
I didn't see any burns they were yapping about on the child. I think the whole thing was blown out of proportion.
Just my opinion.
the charge was allowing a 5 year old into a tanning booth, not tanning ,...... and tanning is radiation .....

to be a lawyer: fine print must be read , not what you think you see and as for I ,only seen a pix of the MOM not the child

JAG my friend you have to be fair on this one..........

Under current law, children 14 and under in California already cannot use the beds, but those ages 15 to 17 can do so with permission from their parents. Illinois, New York, Ohio and Rhode Island have considered an age limit similar to California's, but have yet to enact them

You make no sense. But I guess this comes from boredom.
The statement comes from...she would not be able to have done this here in Canada, as there are laws... child protection ones.
This is why I made the statement.
And the post was not to you!
slow down .... she wasn't allowed to in the USA as well

now I have to get out of the middle here

What is eluding about this statement? Here in Canada we have laws that make it so anyone under 16, have parental consent. But am also going to go a step further,, and say, that here in Canada we would not allow for someone to take in a 5 year old child, due to child protection laws. And not too sure about US laws, but we also have in tanning bed places, that you cannot go for anymore than 25 minutes, and has to be a 24 hour period between sessions.
Seems to me this woman tans when ever she wants, with no restrictions.
Which as far as I am concerned anyone over 18 should be able to tan whenever they want, with no restrictions,, it is after all there body. Same thing as abortion,, what a person (consenting adult) wants to do with "THEIR" body is their own godamn business. We have too many laws, and interference by government as to how to govern ourselves. Which is pretty sanctimonious coming from a group that can't govern themselves.
Hope that is clear enough for you.
bogus charges..you cant "burn" in a tanning booth, thats the whole idea of them..no harmful rays.

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum..........

Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, is a real risk you face when getting excess UV rays. Strong evidence points to the fact that UVA and UVB rays can cause skin cancer. In fact, the FDA announced that if you tan in tanning booths before age 30, your risk of skin cancer goes up by 75%!

Have you heard of Cataracts? It's a form of blindness that may be brought on by UV exposure. Surgery is a treatment, but not a guaranteed fix. Did you know that your cornea can get a sunburn? What about cancer around your eyes? These are all made possible by tanning.

To further reduce burning, most salons now offer high pressure tanning beds. Unlike regular low pressure tanning beds, high pressure beds do not emit UVB rays, using only UVA rays instead. The bulbs used in high pressure beds are made out of quartz, which creates a high air pressure inside.

To further reduce burning

NO HARMFUL RAYS:

right..........Many people turn to tanning beds to maintain their tans while avoiding the sun's harmful rays. But are tanning beds any safer than laying out in the sun?

When the skin is exposed to ultraviolet light, it produces extra pigment to help protect itself from burning. This is what causes a person to tan. However, there are serious problems that can result from too much exposure to ultraviolet light. A person who receives too much exposure may experience damage to the eyes, blistering, rashes and early wrinkling. It is also possible that a person who is exposed to too much ultraviolet light may develop skin cancer.

That's the funny thing about abortion and the argument "a woman should be able to do what she wants with her body"; it is not the woman's body that is being damaged by an abortion. Using your logic, I should be allowed to kill anyone that I feel is inconveniencing me.

My point about the whole thing is did the child stay in the room the whole time or was she just coming in the room to ask mom a question.
The tanning parlor would not stop a child from going in the room?.... really? I'm assuming the kid had to walk past the reception desk.
Another funny thing about this is you can buy booths to have in your home. Aren't they like a coffin, top comes down, rays pointing downward?
Tally, there was a clip of the child next to her over ripe mother, she's white as a sheet.

Mom wasn't tanning her child, I think the kid walked into the room, no abuse in that.

Then how did the child get in the tanning bed room if laws are so strict about it?
Chances are, like most of these OB stories, it lacks details to make a sound judgement.
The charges, after all is said and done, were dropped.

Nice snap judgement there old ho-hum.

Did she tan the kid or just allow
her to come into the room while she
was tanning?

Being charged w/child abuse I assumed
that she "tanned" the child.

Im a little confused re the argument here..

The little girl showed up to school with a sunburn. stated she had been in a tanning bed...

However, even if her mother was neglectful, MOST tanning salons are very clear on laws/rules/..cant imagine a child being allowed into one..

common sense tells you there is a host of dysfuntion in this dynamic.. and a myraid of questions..
did the little girl lie?
did she get the sunburn outside? did her mother have her outside too long to get a "suntan" given her obsession....

why does the father and brother go with the mother to the salons? some stories suggest they went with her and waited,,frequently...odd...
bottom line.. shes addicted to tanning,,and is suffering her sentence every day...and her family is most likely as effed up as she... how could they not be?
and yes, if that little girl got that sunburn by any means other than "error" the mother is at the least neglectful..
its a pretty easy conclusion...???????

Any Salon allowing a child under 14 into the room, let alone the bed..would be as guilty as the mother for allowing the "tan" to take place....
bottom line...she was cleared of the offense.. but "we" continue to judge her....so she is moving...
And I agree with HH....moving somewhere , where she can continue her dysfunction without notice..but that crazyass tan will give her away..
shes toast....lol

Not disagreeing with all that you said, I'm saying the charges were dropped.
And like reebie said, we continue to argue over it. As far as her statements go, I wonder how many people would fold under the stress of a whole country judging her ..... hmmmm.

I believe you have stated before, let the justice system do it's thing. It did .... and she was cleared.
OB stories never give all the facts, they give us a taste and we run with it.
