<quoted text>Not trying to rub it in, but hubby and I took out the boat yesterday. Went about 8-10 miles off shore. Caught pompano, sea bass and dolphin (Mahi). Threw the pompano and sea bass back, too short. Nothing like fresh Mahi Mahi for dinner! Straight from the ocean and right onto the plate. Yummy!

That storm we had here on Sunday, bro told me when it reached them on the island(Newfoundland) they had wind 70 mph and gusts up to 100 mph. Combine that with all the snow, that's one helluva snow storm.

CNN last night were talking about rogue waves, some cruise ship in the English Channel got nailed by a huge rogue wave. I was thinking rogue waves nothing new, in 1982 off Newfoundland the entire crew of Newfoundlanders and Americans on an oil rig(Ocean Ranger) were killed in a vicious winter storm. The ballast control room had all it's electric ballast control valves knocked out by a wave/water. The room was a 100ft above the water....now that's a wave!

As much as I love my "fave" Canadian, please do not send any more french Canadian snowbirds this way. I actually was just out to dinner last night with my motorcycle club and met a couple from Canada. They were complaining about all the motorcycle riders at the restaurant. Saying things like "Wanna be bikers" and "without us Canadians, South Florida would be poor, they need us to spend our money here". NW...I was pissed beyond reason. First, I am one of those so called "wanna be bikers". This "wanna be" raises more money for charity organizations than they can shake a stick at. All of our members are active or retired LEO's. I was so insulted! We worked hard while we lived in New York. We retired young and live on a beautiful pension. Hubby only works because he got bored (and it keeps him from going back to Afghanistan) So, NO we don't need their money. I let them have it!! I then told them to take their wallets and start heading north on 95 and please do not come back!!(i pointed north) I also said "the only thing your good for is more traffic, longer time spent at the check out counter of the grocery store and longer waiting times to get into the restaurants". I ended off with a joke.....what's the difference between a canoe and a french Canadian snowbird? At least canoes tip!!

Hubby just sat there with his mouth hanging open and said "So honey, tell them how you really feel". LMAO.

They left immediately, but they called me a redneck on the way out. WTH??? I have a strong New York accent. DUH!!

Can't wait until April. That's when all the snowbirds start to leave. I just smile and wave and point to Interstate 95! Saying "Buh bye now, take care then, Buh bye"!

BUT!!!! I do love a few Canadians! Just hate the ignorant ones! Please do not take it out on me because I live where you vacation.

NW....this rant is all your fault. You had to go and start me off. Love ya anyway!

I'm done venting. ;)

Many french Canadians are wonderful people, but when you find a bad one, they're the vilest SOB's people you'll ever meet from north of the border. You should have just shot them and used the 'stand your ground' laws as defense...lol.

There are 2 types of french Canadians. The Quebecois of Quebec....majority of them are separatists, hate Canada(but love the tax dollar programs), ignorant left wing socialists. They have every right to want to keep their culture etc...but in Quebec, they have the "language gestapo...that's what we call them). They will harass, fine, etc English store owners for not having enough English on their signs. Some of them are that ignorant they won't speak english to you even though they can speak it. They forget we English beat them at war in the 1700s and Canada is majority English.

Then there's the Acadian french where I live, here in New Brunswick. Far different than the Quebecois. Yes, you might find the odd one who is an ignorant douche demanding their bi-lingual laws etc...but for the most part they are a different better breed of french.

Go ahead rant and hope you enjoyed my french Canadian history lessons...lol
