It's really odd how many gray boxes hang out at gay bars. Oh well, to each their own I guess.

I don't usually bet on sports. If I'm out in Vegas I will. I've been out there for the 1st week of March Madness, and it's fun put some money (not huge dollar amounts) on a bunch of the games ... just so you have some skin in the game. I'll also bet on the Superbowl if I'm out there for that.

Other than occasional card games with friends, I pretty much only gamble when I am out there, which, nowadays, I'm lucky if that is every few years.

A few years ago, I did some online texas hold 'em poker for awhile, but i felt it was rigged. Getting pocket rockets (pair of aces) was like the kiss of death for me and people would pull b.s. on the river far more often than IRL, it seemed. Folks would play with crap hands that they normally wouldn't even play with IRL then pull stuff out their a$ses on the turn or river ALL THE TIME it seemed. I was like f' this ... this can't be legit, long before the feds shut them down.

Also, honestly, I can't even sit back and relax during the playoff games, as it is. The game can change so quickly, as evidenced by the hawks scoring two goals in 17 seconds. I can only imagine what having money of any significance to me on the line on top of all that would do to me.

Maybe if I were in Vegas, but I don't really need to put money on teams that I am a fan of to feel invested in the outcome. I just enjoy watching my teams play and rooting for them, without needing that added aspect.

Where I find that it makes a game more enjoyable to watch is when there is a game involving two teams that I could not care less about, in terms of who wins. If I have money on one team, even just a little bit, it gives me a team to root for.

So, that is what I like to do it for ... but it's not even so much to win money, but to make me invested in the outcome of the game (yes winning money that's nice too, but I don't like to gamble with high stakes ... I only like to gamble with money that I don't really care if I lose, which means if I win, it's not going to be a lot either, in most instances)

Even when I go to vegas, I don't like to do high stakes gambling because I just don't like to pi$$ money away like that. I'm risk adverse in that context because I know the odds are stacked against me.

So, I only bring what I plan on losing and will be okay with losing. I feel that way even though I think I have only come back with less money than I brought once or twice (I'm a good poker player) and have never lost all the money I have brought. I've probably been to Vegas a dozen times and I've come back with more money than I brought or the same amount I brought probably 10 or 11 times, and I've doubled my money or more probably 8 times.

I don't go for broke, tho. I figure if I can eat like a king, have a blast with my friends and family, party like a rock star and drink top shelf liquor, gamble every night until the wee hours of the morning with my friends and family (I play poker tournaments, but mostly at $25 dollar blackjack tables) and come back with all the money I brought or maybe double that amount, that's a pretty good trip!

So, I'm a conservative gambler. My one brother on the other hand can go with a be up 4, 5 to 6 times the amount he brought, and piss it all away by the next night. He's done it a couple of times when I've been out there. That's the anti-me.

I think I am a conservative gambler at the casino because when I was 18, I drove to an Indian casino in Wisconsin with my bros and some friends. You used to be able to gamble there when you were 18 ... Now it's 21.

I only brought $100 bucks, tho. I ended up getting up to $800 or 900 dollars and everyone was like holy shyte Sublime you rock!!!! That was a lot of money to me at that time. I ended up pushing my bets and within no time I lost it all and walked out of there with $0.00.

I learned my lesson. That was a long 3 hour ride home and I was kicking myself for not at least walking out with some money.

In casino gaming if you go Big, yes, you can win Big, but more often than not you go Broke.

So, I like to sit at a table and double my money and then a little more ... then i put that money away and play until i lose the little more or use it to double my original amount again and then a little more ... Then I do the same thing, again. I also walk away if there are prolonged losing hands at one table and go to a new table. I don't try riding losing streaks out.

I was told long ago to play the money you took to gamble and save all he money you make to the side until you run out of the money you brought and that's your winnings and it works a lot of he time, you're basically paying to play so if you break even it's still winning and Thats how I brought back $1,000 from Vegas, it was he same $1,000 I took to gamble lol.

But most of the time you end up playing your winnings and that's where you screw up, that or the winner hands out money to his friend looses and you come home broke together lol

In the long run, the house is always going to win Ö thatís why they offer folks who get lucky and win big all these comps to come back. They want you there. Your only chance is to win in the short run and then GTFO.

As I see it, even if I don't win and just breakeven, I've still gotten to drink grey goose and 7-up or red bull every night into the early morn' with my family/friends, tipped the waitresses $5 bucks for every drink they bring me, tipped the dealers well if I do really well at a particular table, and had a kick a$s time ... all on the casino's dime!
