We have guys at work who drink coffee all day and fill up another cup heading out the door at the end of the day?

<quoted text>Also look at these government and municipal jobs. I remember a time when the private sector paid substantially more than the public sector. The deal was if you wanted the big money, that's where you went and if you wanted job security, or a job after you retired from the private sector, you went to the public sector. Now the public sector makes substantially more than the private sector, both in pay and benefits. In this era of budget sequester, the public sector is not willing to make any concessions what so ever, but its ok to raise taxes and cut essential services to the taxpayer. I was working in Bellevue the other day and there was some road work going on, that required a police officer to direct traffic. Throughout the day, I made several trips to the supply house and went out to lunch. His car, that was parked just outside of the construction zone was left running the whole time. Who pays for that? Government has simply grown to a non sustainable size and has turned into a ruling class.
Spot on. They exist not to serve the public, but to serve themselves. There is also very little accoutability ... that's why the IRS spends tens of thousands of dollars on seminars, Gilligan's Island videos, and Star Trek videos. In the private sector, there are very few industries where you could get away with that degree of reckless spending, especially in times like this.

And when you look at why unions were created and needed originally, it was because of abuses in the private sector Ö not abuses in the public sector. Itís just a mechanism now that is used to extract as much money and benefits from taxpayers. Unlike in the private sector these contract negotiations are not even armís length, because the government is negotiating with its own money, but rather that of taxpayers and half the folks in government on average are in the unions pocket because unions contribute huge amounts to democrat politician campaigns.

Yes, I'm naughty, but I have a sweet side too. I was the one who left her flowers yesterday, even though Denny took credit for it. I got back at him by gaining access to his house and rubbing poison ivy in the underpants in his underwear drawer. Should be kicking in right about now... It was either that or trapping a bunch of raccoons and releasing them in his attic, but I thought that would be mean.

Aha! Denny, oh Denny, Sublime took my newspaper. May I have yours?

Don't have any "fun" weekend plans, just my usual, laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, washing my car. Maybe see a movie with some friends. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good action movie. I don't like "chick flicks".

Ha, you did not! Those flowers you left, you left on Kev's front porch.
