Make sure you get to the Temple with Mittens before then and pray that happens.

Looks like your cream puff league games are over - let's see how Cryin' Jay does against a real team like Houston.

Ray Nitschke, arguably one of the finest and toughest linebackers ever to come out of the University of Illinois, was a HUGE Bear fan before he graduated. Born in Elmwood Park, Illinois, he grew up idolizing the Bears and George Halas. In his senior year, Ray had the opportunity to play for the collegiate allstars against the then World Champion Chicago Bears in a year-end exhibition game. On the last play of the game, Ray hit the Bear's starting fullback so hard, he knocked him unconcious. Halas upon seeing the vicious play, ran up to Ray and shouted, "You'll never play for the Bears!!!" After he was drafted by the Packers in the third round of the 1958 draft, he developed a genuine hatred of the Bears - even naming his pet bulldog, "Butkus."

His daughter worked with my sister for 15 years and every year we'd send him a package of memorbilia - which he would autograph, for free, and pay for the return postage. I still have his HOF jersey framed on my wall at home.

I share his legacy of hating the Bears.
