A former Pennsylvania jail inmate says he didn't sneak a cellphone into the lockup in his prosthetic leg, though he acknowledged having it for a year as he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

To be put in jail for driving on a suspended licence usually means that he lost his license for either repeated drunk driving or a medical condition such as untreated diabetes. I know someone in jail for that right now. He kept driving even after they took away his license because he had passed out more than once in the past. And of course the year he is now serving was not the first time he was caught driving suspended. The penalties go up with each arrest and conviction. If you repeat a crime the logic is that the last sentence was not stiff enough if you repeat it.

At any rate society is much safer with this man locked up. Trust me you would no more want him driving on the streets than you would want a rapist loose. A rapist is much less likely to reoffend than a suspended driver. And a car can be a deadly weapon.

Thank you, Professor; your in depth analysis is always enlightening.
Read with interest that the results of your exhaustive research which apparently showed that rapists are less of a societal menace than drunken drivers. Has to do with the numbers of dicks vs wheels each has, presumably???
