Since Santa Claus is a mythical character his form is in spirit only, now we know all ghosts are white (blacks would agree) and spirits although taking sometime different form are also of a smokey white presence if you've ever seen one.
The mind interprets the spirit as they perceive it, so in fact it could be any color.
Santa to me is American Indian, no beard but full headdress of feathers and tassels, long parched face and bridged nose with war paint on his face.
Hey DoubleH two arguments for you here.
1)See now that is where your wrong though. Santa Claus is another name for Saint Nicholas. Saint Nicholas was a real person. He is not mythical character he is a real person from long ago who has a mythology created around him.
2) So he is a mythological character. Part of that mythology is he is a white guy who gives presents to all the children based on their deeds. Greek gods and goddesses are mythological too but they are white. Papa Legba is a mythological character in African Voodoo and he is black.
The only people who misappropriate Santa and portray him as anything other than white do so because they can't believe a white person is capable of compassion for all people.

See right there proves he's spiritual, you see him one way I see him another.
To me he looks like my grandfather because growing up my grandfather was Christmas. He was my 'Santa'! And I still hold that belief, my grandfather was a saint.
He predicted the future and now we're in it. He told me how it would be and that was 60 some years ago, and he was right on!

But you're the one who's changin it.
He's talking about.....In the beginning.
You're talking about what you imagine now.
I remember when kids used to ask if Santa was real.
My answer was always.....Of course!
The Spirit of Santa lives forever.

Dear Editor—

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says,“If you see it in The Sun, it’s so.” Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia O’Hanlon

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men’s or children’s, are little. In this great universe of ours, man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that’s no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the baby’s rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived could tear apart. Only faith, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
Francis P. Church

Virginia O’Hanlon Douglas died on May 13, 1971, at the age of 81, in a nursing home in Valatie, N.Y.

Francis P. Church, the editor of the Sun newspaper, died in April, 1906, leaving no children.

Santa is white and Coca-Cola is brown. Both were established by the Coca-Cola company years ago.

Kind of true. Coca-Cola was very influential in bringing Santa into the American zeitgeist based on the description in " A Visit From Saint Nicholas" ( What some mistake as "Twas the Night Before Christmas") by Clement Clark Moore or Henry Livingston Jr.( depends on who you ask).

My grandfathers mother was 1/2 Cherokee/shawnee and my grandfather Cristined me as
'crazy horse', I never knew to be proud of it or forget it. Figured it was just a joke on me.
He did that kind of stuff often but he had a serious side also and you didn't cross that!
I think that would make me about a 1/8 indian(???)

The Black Santa lives in Africa. He travels by swinging around on vines from one tree top to the next.

Ask Mommy.

She was kissing him and I'm pretty sure she snuck a peak to see if Santa's eyes were also closed.

Daddy was still in the basement cursing up a storm because there must be "extra" parts for the bicycle.
