I found something Billy and I agree on!

I imagine that Billy has a twin sister and, so does he!

Imagine that!

Unfortunately none of those answer the question I asked. Heres the problem with the links you provided.....The first one interviewed 88 people, too small of a sample to be significant. Plus it was a group of undergraduate students they interviewed. Somehow I'm imagining that 20 year old college students might not be the most balanced group to interview. The second link said it was possible to have opposite sex friends. The third and fourth links are from well know hyper religious organizations, again not exactly balanced and unbiased sources.

Flbadcatowner, I'm with you 100 percent there.
I was wondering how we can be out here playing this hard (fast and furious) instead of paying closer attention to all the poles (typo stays) out there.

Keep enjoying your day.
I'm just out here playing and truly I mean you no harm.
I agree with some of what you state and I can be as much of a brat as I see you are experienced with. I know you understand this: it's all about the ratings and I know you are good for them as well.

I thought I'd offer the advice of people knowledgeable about the subject because you would never agree with anything I say and I have no desire to get into another protracted battle of personal attacks that would inevitably result if I gave mu opinions. You are already feeding me a line of excuses rather than reasons that my links are of no use. All you are doing is trying to stir up trouble and I refuse to be a part of that scene. I will have to say that the four links I gave have few if any fundamental differences between them although theysometimes focus on different aspects. I get the feeling that the links told you what you didn't want to hear.

Actually, even the ultra religious sites said that the relationship I have with my friend is alright since I act the same way whether or not my wife is there. But still, born again christian marriage ministries aren't a good source to use. The only one that really condemned friendships between the sexes is the one where they interviewed 88 college students to ask their views on the issue. And somehow, a bunch of kids (most of whom aren't old enough to drink yet) isn't really a sample group to have a lot of confidence in when it comes to marriage..

Psst! In sillycatWorld, we're the same guy! He's a regular Sherlock Holmes, he is! Ya know, but for the 1,500 miles between you and I thing (you said in a prior post you're near FTL, if I recall, and I'm in the chilly Midwest); that we're two different guys, with distinct, separate lives and life stories thing; and oh yeah that we don't even write alike thing, we're like almost twins! Totally! LOL

Yep, I am in Fort Lauderdale, where it is currently just over 80 degrees.....And you're right, I don't think we write alike at all. Heck, you don't even like putting a bunch of periods at the end of your sentences like I do.......

I am less than reassured by that claim. I also did not condemn ALL opposite sex friendships. I only questioned the lack of discretion by some. If you can find a site that gives unconditional blessings to any and all opposite sex friendships with absolutely no recommended guidelines attached, I would like to see it.

I will say it. Opposite sex friends among married people is not necessarily wrong if wise guidelines are used according to most of the experts and most of the experts at the very least advise extreme caution with private meetings and many out and out recommend against it. I am inclined to agree with the experts on that and say that opposite sex friendships need to be approached very carefully.

THERE!
That should be able to put this subject to rest. Now we could jump over to the one that discusses ending this subject.

Of course not. The woman would probably dress in something that ISN'T a burka which will show off her curves--and EVERYONE KNOWS that men CAN'T control themselves and WILL BE FORCED to jump her bones given the first chance.....

I didn't say that liar! I only said that it was disrespectful to one's apouse and that it COULD lead to serious complications.

Well, sure! Of course, he's very likely to want to have sex with her but they could certainly be friends.
