It's that sort of thing that comes inevitably, but I guess I should have noticed it when my mom hung a stream of red-and-gold fake firecrackers in the middle of the living room. Yep, Lunar New Year. It's that sort of day when you waste almost every freakin' hour cooking-in fact, the roast pork is sizzling in the oven right now and its savory smelling is filling the air. And getting into my hair. Eew.

There are also these peanut cookies that mother made- crumbly round biscuits that are slightly buttery and studded with a peanut. When you eat it, it breaks in your mouth like a spray of sand (that's how brittle they are) and fills your mouth with a powdery sweet peanut flavour.

Yum.

I'm a girl. People are generally quite nice, but there are a lot of social cliques- emo, scene queen- and I'm not into the whole "thick eyeliner and snakebites" thing. You find a lot of teenagers with skinny jeans and Hollister T shirts.

The weather is quite nice and cool around the winter, but murderously hot in the summer; the heat can weigh down on a person as if it's actual physical weight on your back. We're currently in a drought (it seems we are almost EVERY YEAR) but we've had some healthy rain here and there, so it's not so bad.

Thanks for your response. Men and women in florida are differt. It depends on where you are. Here they try to be impressively conservative while f*cking the next door neighbor or a state worker. Then they act like a prude. Wild is not the thing here. If you are not conservative you are an outcast. I am proud to be that. These people are idiots that pretend the Ozzie and Harriet deal.

We hang with the unacceptable crew. Thank God.

SEX.(I know, huh?)

It was today that I was reading Memoirs of a Geisha and got to the part when Sayuri's mizuage, or "virginity" got auctioned off. It went to Dr. Crab. Anyway, it mentioned bleeding during the "first time" so I turned to my classmate and asked her if virgins bleed after sex (I myself am a virgin). She told me yes, and there will be pain when it happens. My friend went on to more... detailed descriptions. It freaked me out and sort of nauseated me. How lucky guys are that they don't feel any pain at all!
I was about to pledge myself to lifelong abstinence when she assured me that if I find the right guy, everything will be okay, and it won't hurt as much.
Or, she said, I can get really drunk and don't feel any pain at all. I don't think I'll do that.
I asked her if she ever had sex. She just smiled...

DREAMS

On Saturday I had a strange dream. I was at my school and was entering the Student Store, but it didn't necessarily look like the student store, but it looked more like a stop at a gasoline station, where they sell donuts and candy and souvenir T-shirts. The strange thing is, I felt as if it was... normal. That's the interesting things about dreams, I guess. There was a cute boy at the counter who leaned over and kissed me, I felt shocked, but I just said "Um...Okay..." and walked out of there.

As I was walking down a familiar hallway I saw this guy I used to like-Bri. He was waving at me and held up his hand for a high five. I was shocked because I don't think he would ever do such a thing. Either way, I high-fived him and that was when he gripped my hand, pulled me towards him, and hugged and kissed me. On the lips. I sort of hated it and liked it. My friend, SL, told me that I liked it, but I hated the fact that I liked it. Either way, I feel sorta out of place. ANY DREAM INTERPRETERS HERE?

Don't believe everything you hear from clssmates, their information is not always accurate! The only reason a virgin would bleed would be if her hymen was intact (or if she had an incredibly rough and thoughtless lover). In this day an age, hymens are often ruptured in adolescence, in sport or similar. As a male, I've slept with two virgins, neither of them bleed. So it doesn't necessarily have to hurt. I am told from female friends that the pain is minor in most cases anyway. Hope that helps.

Sensible girl - only you can decide when you're ready for that level of involvement, don't let others in your school tell you otherwise.

Thank you. I'm not even legal yet. Even if I was, I'd still wait for marriage.
And if my boyfriend won't accept that, it's too bad.

POEM

Here is a poem I wrote myself.

It was that sort of thing;
It was nothing, it was everything
A mere feeling,
A blinding infatuation
So blinding I couldn't see
A flurry of forbidden thoughts,
Imagination,
A rising fantasy
I feared the worst
And welcomed the best
Anything, everything
And all the rest
But it was all short-lived
The whole affair
Had turned into rust
Remnants of memories blowing in the air
Who knew this love
Had simply turned to dust?

waiting for marriage is a nice thought, but it may be unrealistic, so just in case be prepared.
u certainly Don't want to pay for it later..
just remember, the time should be right for You.

So, anyhoo...

There is this really crazy girl in my school named Chel. The thing about her is that she is REALLY ANNOYING, SLUTTY, and just plain RUDE. It also doesn't help her case that she's a total DITZ. And it so happened that she was the source of my near-death experience today. How did it happen?...

My locker always stood around the end of the hallway, next to a big tin trash can. And it so happened that Chel decided to shoot a three-pointer with A GLASS STARBUCKS FRAPPUCCINO BOTTLE at the trash can. GLASS, people. What a gyp.

Chel isn't even very athletic; she couldn't even make a free throw to save her life. So you can imagine that she didn't "shoot" it, she instead flung the glass bottle like a ninja star RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. If I hadn't ducked, the frappuccino bottle would have hit my head and I would be in the hospital with a concussion right now instead of typing my entry.

In better light, I. GOT. MY. DREAM. PURSE. I got the Jenny Yuen Esme Black Patent purse. It's so beautiful!*cries*. At 500 bucks a pop, it's a fine beaut. I love it!!! I worked SO hard earning it. Washing the car, getting straight A's, saving up all my red envelope money and allowance...it's worth it.:-)

Poem by me: My Secret Love

I wish I could tell you how I feel
How often I wondered if love was real
How often I pined
For our fingers to be intertwined
How our lips would meet
In a soft kiss so sweet
Or how you'd stroke my hair
And tell me secrets when nobody is there
How we'd gaze into eachother's eyes
As the soft eerie dusk would arise
And cloak us with its cool violet glow
And the wind would whisper to us of tales long ago
And how we'd gaze up at the white frosted clouds
Unblackened by dark absent shrouds
Of misery and despair-
If you'd just love me, I would never be there!
But I can only dream;
You're so close yet so far away, it seems!
So for now my kisses are secrets
And my love too
And I'd go on with my secret wish-
A life with just me and just you.

I read Animal Farm by George Orwell. Lovely book; you should read it sometime. It's an allegory to the Russian Revolution, only with farm animals.:-). I am almost done with it!

If you like that one, try 1984 by the same author. A little more heavyweight, but very good.
