Nobody likes the IRS. Obama is hardly Nixonian tho. The IRS wanted to make sure that kooky groups like the tea party didn't get off without paying taxes, see? it's easy to recognize.

Nah. Somebody tried to dodge taxes, and they got busted.

The Tea Party doesn't really qualify for tax exempt, wouldn't you agree?

How about this other one:
----------
Organizing for Action, as it's now called, has not yet filed for tax-exempt status. Officials with the group say they are only in their fourth month of existence and federal law says it has two years to file paperwork with the IRS, though they plan on operating in the same manner as the targeted groups.

"In carrying its work, OFA will operate as a 'social welfare' organization within the meaning of section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code," the group's website states.

They and a lot of churches are defying the rules, potentially ruining it for the others who DO comply. In the case of the teabaggers, they're not supposed to support a candidate- or, conspire against one- and retain their tax-exempt status.
