This is what happens when the bar is lowered for quality control of our servants. How can peace officer expect respect from citizens when they allow their colleagues to flout the laws all citizens are expected to follow. The mindset of covering for your brothers in blue has to change; it only hurts YOU if you allow rogue cops to continue their employment alongside officers who have a proper moral compass. With the proliferation of camera phones and other ubiquitous video recording, cops should reset their attitudes to LOWER the temperature of encounters with citizens, NOT fuel citizens' POV that policing is becoming more militarized and mechanized.

The powers that be should weed out bad cops and turn this around before the emerging police-state gets out of control and certain factions and others push back. The place to start is to stop hiring warm bodies who don't know the difference between right and wrong.

He was just borrowing them in case he had to go on a foot chase. The way they market shoes these days, you can't blame the officer for wanting an edge.
