The people who we put in charge of our welfare use the term "assault weapon" as a way to frighten the masses into allowing them to alter the 2nd amendment of the Constitution, which clearly states that ...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
By definition, anything used to do harm to another living thing, either physically or verbally is an "assault" weapon.

as·sault
n.
1. A violent physical or verbal attack.
2.
a. A military attack, such as one launched against a fortified area or place.
b. The concluding stage of an attack in which close combat occurs with the enemy.
3. Law
a. An unlawful threat or attempt to do bodily injury to another.
b. The act or an instance of unlawfully threatening or attempting to injure another.
4.
a. Law Sexual assault.
b. The crime of rape.

All rifles and pistols when used to harm another living thing, are "assault" weapons.
Should we allow the lawmakers to ban ALL weapons, because they are "assault" weapons, or should we act in a sane, rational, intelligent way and make it more difficult for some members of society to obtain weapons, to use those weapons to harm others and to be released back into society after using them.
Should we make it easier for members of society to be armed and capable of protecting those who are not armed, from assault by those in society who prey on the weak, helpless and defenseless members of our society.
There have been and unfortunately always will be members of any society that will attempt to impose their will on those that they deem to be weaker. None of the tweaking of the 2nd amendment has changed that for the better.

Ban Guns in America. I can't believe Gun addiction is this strong in the US! You don't see Africans shoot each other as randomly, do you? No. That's because it is illegal to carry guns without a special permit. America needs to take lessons from Africans.

I won't STFU. You think we enjoy reading and watching sad news about kids getting shot at everyday in schools in the US? Ban Guns. Or implement strict Gun controls. The truth hurts but it must be told! Gun addiction needs to be addressed properly in America. Smdh. I don't want to hear people get shot at by random lunatics with semi automatic assult weaponry! I won't stfu.

Well, in Kenya, Gun possesion is illegal except with a special permit. And I have never been robbed, mugged or shot at, so the "crazy excuse that guns protect my family and home" is just Gun addict's way of trying to escape reality. There is more to life than Guns people. I've never even owned or fired a gun. I don't need one. Never will.

Maybe if the schools were shut down it would help...we haven't had any kids shot in school since...ah...ever,but as a precautionary measure the govt is shutting many down anyway.

Uh are you serious? You are joking right? Africans don't randomly kill each other.
Liberia- Boy Soldiers (Lost Boys)
Somalia- Mohamed Farrah Aidid army kills thousands and withholds food from citizens
South Africa- ANC and Zulus battle.
Your country Kenya- Muslims and Christians kill each other and burn places of worship.
So much for gun control

Hyperbole withers your argument.
"..kids getting shot at everyday in schools in the US"
the shootings do not happen every day, nor is it in the news every day.
Now, do you have anything constructive to add, or are you just going to yell assault weaponry. Repeating ignorant words do not make them any less ignorant

Have you ever been to America?
If not how can you judge or know the dangers everyday citizens face? You say you read or see on TV about US gun violence. Funny how are media never mentions when guns save someone's life or prevented a home invasion (which is not a rarity in big cities).
Funny how you never hear about hunters how provide for their families.
You know why, have the media has probably never held a gun or went hunting, or served in the military. They like you judge others from outside and from their world. Walk a mile in my shoes before you judge me.

There certainly is more to life than guns. But, thankfully in America, we are guaranteed the right to own and use firearms by our Constitution and we are free to exercise that right. Not everyone does, or wants to own a firearm in America, but if some of us choose to do so, that right is protected and we will continue to fight to see that it is.
