I understand your point.....BUT
I prefer a women to be opinionated of course, but there is a limit to the "strongness" that I have...... Women (and men) that are too opinionated, or too strong or both (yikes) are a turn off to me. I prefer a more librarian type woman who contains herself....and that is NOT a sign of weakness, she may very well be opinionated but also a bit less "in your face"..... Sometimes keeping ones lips sealed says more than opening them and turning someone off...
But hey, that's just me.....
I agree...I look at that as arrogance and that is a real turn-off. I think it is attractive if a guy is strong and confident but when they are overbearing with arrogance it is annoying and not attractive.

I don't really care to argue, so unless it really matters to me I don't start it. Not everything needs to be said. I never nag, I don't like to repeat myself :)

Like Yosemite Sam, I am pretty loud, vocal, opinionated, and most of the time at/near 'Max Volume', and my wife only slightly less so. It's a Texas thing, I guess. Our kids have always said they could hear us before they ever see us anywhere.

So what might sound like an argument is just an exchange of information. We haven't really gotten "loud" in years. It has always been counterproductive....

tell me your kidding right?, and no it is not , women deserve respect not to be treated like slaves, not do whatever you say when YOU say it... i'm independent, i've never needed a man to do anything for me , i can change my own tire and pay my own bills and any man of mine will respect me or he's getting kicked to the curb... just saying :)

Just wondering... do men like strong , opinionted women who stay true to their beliefs?, see i am strong and opinionated on certian things, like i need respect, that's all i ask for, i love with all my heart, but there's a fire inside me, i can be a fighter and i stand up for what i believe in, and i stand up for the innocent and the people who can't stand up for themselves
Example: i see someone being mean to someone else for no reason, i stand up for them.
Example: a man says a womans' place is in the kitchen or you can't do that your just a woman, now make me a sandwhich woman
Me: nope i can be anything i wanna be; and only if you say please :)
I mean i like making whoever i'm with happy but i will not be pushed around or treated badly and stay, i have self respect and know what i deserve.
I lost track of the number of times you said "I" in this post... Maybe if you moved a little more center to "we", you wouldn't be asking Offbeaters to answer this question for you.

I've encouraged my girl to be more assertive. She's always had opinions but would keep them inside. I don't want someone who feels they shouldn't make waves... waves lead to tsunamis if they go unnoticed...

Yikes.....No, not at all.
I'd rather be with a smart woman, who I know is smart.....and chooses to NOT be "in your face" and/or overly loud about their beliefs (key word: overly).

Nothing wrong with stating your point in a nice and level-headed fashion and not getting goaded into an argument about your beliefs.....I don't like the loud "in-your-face" types (Examples: Rosie O'Donnell, Joan Rivers, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson).

It's all a matter of degree. Hey, some guys like a loud and obnoxious woman, it goes well with THEIR lifestyle.....but not me.
