About the suicide nurse ... it truly is a sad situation and I feel bad for the children, husband, immediate and extended family ... there were deeper issues with the nurse than meets the eye ... the practical joke just pushed her over the edge ... and, when in this world, does a woman have to be treated in a hospital for morning sickness for a pregnancy?... Maybe there is something I do not understand ... Okay, I've never had any children so I obviously I would not understand ... Maybe someone could enlighten me ... The ladies here who have experienced this situation morning sickness ... maybe I don't have the whole story the illness which led Kate Middleton's treatment at the hospital ...
Anyone?...
I believe this has been ansered Flower...but just to add, that the
Royal physician must have deemed a spell in hospital worthy, perhaps due
to the severity of Kat'es sickness, and also the fact that it is her first baby and she is in her thirties. A precaution.
I was fortunate not to experience anything like it, in fact I carried on working as a fashion model well into my fifth month.

Interesting post Vee,
re the two DJ's... yes indeed it has gone
right round the world and they are devastated,
especially the female who cannot stop crying,
the interviewer said to her
"you know you might have to appear at the
inquest, then you'll have to face her whole family'
she replied
"I'll do ANYTHING it takes if it helps"
I really think they're getting very bad press even
threats, like you say, Vee,
there MUST HAVE BEEN other issues..
and question answers itself,
the 2 DJ's were out for a quick laugh,
and if they had the least idea it would end in such
tragedy the wouldn't have gone near it!
As was pointed out Grace, there were those who thought this extremely
funny before the tragedy occurred...double standards there.

In all of this also, am left wondering how the nurse who actually gave
the information came out of it all. Not, I hasten to add, she should feel any way to blame, I myself feel as though it has been blown up
out of all proportion by the tragic reaction of the deceased nurse.
The dj's did not for a moment, think their enquiries would be actually answered.

By the time you get this Lady El ... it will be morning as it is 2124 on Tuesday night ... I am very well, thank you! FINALLY!... Have been doing a full workout at the gym back to 3-4 times a week, cardio, weight machines and free weights ... all is good ... no running out of breath or anything like that ... dropped by docs today to pick up an unrelated prescription and she checked my lungs quickly and it's all good!... Thank you for your concern ... Now, what's this about a pain in YOUR neck?... Did you sleep wrong or something? Is is chronic neck pain from earlier years? Hope it resolves itself soon ... I had the neck fusion at C5-6 3/11/11 so I'll have the chronic neck thing but I find the exercise helps a lot ... when it acts up moist heat helps ... I also have a TENS unit 2011 model which I love ... haven't had to use it since my auto injury of 8/7/11 resolved and then the slip and fall on the marble fall of 5/5/12 resolved ... man, I'm just an accident waiting to happen, huh?... goodness, lol ... Hope you get to feeling better ... I went looking for Boardwalk Empire yesterday and I guess last week was the season finale ... Season finale of Sons of Anarchy last week, too ... Justified is season premiere is next month so at least have that to look forward to ... Hope your Wednesday is a good one ... Hope P is well and the kittens are spry and looking good, too! Enjoy your day and have a smile on me ... Love and arms around you! FC <3 ...
VERY briefly Flower...I slipped a disk in my neck some years ago out walking the dogs, was on a hilly bank and the Rott pulled me over.
It flares up now and again if I have been carrying to excess.
Next week is the finale of Boardwalk....Margaret and the kids have left...Nucky has decided not to run away, to fight in his corner.....
did I mention 'Al Capone' is actually a Mancunian (from my home town)
who knew?!...<3

Hi Falcon, warm wishes,
When I saw you around, I thought
I just must send this..
dyu remember when we had all the fun
back on '07, I wrote this back then
for the fun, I omitted any other
names making allowances for situations
that change over time.
Enjoy..
ODE to Falcon..
by Grace Nerissa:
**********
" Falcon rises early, he's up with the lark,
opens the office 6.30pm sharp
Goes on line to see what's new
While the kettle's getting ready
For a nice pot of brew.
'X' his princess reigns supreme,
She has poor Falcon locked in a dream.
He has other 'cyber' girlfriends,
Amongst them El and Vee...
Vee lines up he jokes whilst El provides the tea!
He charms us with srories of fancy fast cars-
music - movies and yesterday's stars.
Falcon has to work a very long day,
Sometimes he has to
for a little extra pay.
But late in the afternoon he closes up shop
Saying "Goodnight' lovely ladies,
I'm off before I drop!
When he goes home, the wife makes tea
And says >
'Hey! Here! listen, lad
now it's YOU and ME'
"QUIT your dreaming
of those ladies on he Net
or I'll give you a SLAP you won't forget !
AND what is this?
You're sulking
You haven't said a word??"
"NO" said Falcon!
"IM JUST SHAKEN ... NOT STIRRED''!!
Then he relaxes with a drink or two
And listens to his music -
- old and the new.
That brings us nicely to another day's end

<quoted text>in rare cases it can be quite bad ... here is a link and an excerpt from the article
"Cheryl Harrison, 34, was nine weeks into a planned second pregnancy when she decided she couldn't continue any more, and had a termination. The reason? Morning sickness so severe it made her vomit more than 25 times a day, and left her unable to care for her toddler."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/j...
My wife had it pretty bad but not as bad as this .. but she did book several days off work 3 or 4 times in her first trimester. The second was not so bad but in the third trimester she had regular heartburn .... for the only time in our marriage I was OK with her bitchness while she was pregnant.
Thank you, Franko ... "hyperemesis gravidarum" causing dehydration requiring hospitalization and causing death in some earlier cases ... a plausible and scientific explanation ... that was a need to know basis ... I appreciation the clarification ... whether it applies to Kate Middleton is none of my business and I hope it's not the case in which it involves her and I certainly hope she will carry on through her pregnancy without further complication ...

I'll admit I've never had children but my understanding from friends is that morning sickness is not just in the morning and some women experience it throughout the entire pregnancy.
Pure speculation but it is also my understanding the miscarriage is quite common in the first trimester. Perhaps there was something of greater concern than morning sickness. Some things should still be kept private even for celebrities and heads of state.

"Some things should be kept private......."

You would think it should be, granted, but in this particular case, i.e., The Duchess of Cambridge, had she been hospitilised without the public being made aware, then as the Royals are so highly regarded, questions would be asked as to why she was in
there in the first place, rumours could abound that she had lost the baby, nothing worse than rumour, her family could hardly visit un-noticed, considering who they are, and besides which, the Royal Family are public property much as though I hate to say it.
Not to mention the baby will be third in line to the throne.....

Well,
I suppose everyone had a very different
and an obviously lighter approach to it
before the tragic events that unfolded,
like the old story..

'it's easy to be wise after the event'

Maybe some saw humour in it
[
i speak ofd BEFORE the tragedy]
but personally, I wouldn't,
not in a situation where someone
was ill in hospital, morever that
person being royalty..

On a different subject, was out all afternoon Xmas shopping,
and what a wonderful time I had, re living my early
childhood, looking at all the Christmas dolls
and toys, windy up musical thingies,
and coloured hurdy gurdies!!

I took a sleeping doll in my arms,
one with huge blue eyes that opened wide,
when I held it up -
most unusually, it transported me back in time
to when I was a very small child and how I
used gaze in wonder into the beautiful dolls
eyes, thinking it was a fairy, or some sort of angel! hard to describe
what I mean, but, for moments, I captured the pure innocence
of my thinking 'back then'
and it felt extraordinarily beautiful.

<quoted text>I read an article that looked into the consequences of practical jokes. for exmpae thre have eben entire shows on TV that were all about practical jokes (Candid Camera).... there is no record of anyone commiting suicide over a practical joke. Somehow this is a confluence of various factors that must have combined to make this woman feel like her life should end over this ... maybe depression, maybe cultural aspects, etc etc.
We had our own series of CANDID CAMERA here too,
admittedly most were innocent and quite funny,
but someone always has to be the butt of the joke, and that's what makes people uncomfortable
as you say too, Franko.

No one knows why the nurse saw fit to
let it bother her so much that she made
such a tragic decision;

like you say,
many things come in to play here
and agreed, cultural aspects, among them,
that's a strong possibility..
I thought that too.
