My baby sister and BIL planning move to either Nashville or Knoxville so won't be too far from there ... certainly a lot closer than Texas ... I plan on making the move ... I put those links in my favorites and will certainly check them out ... will definitely keep the lakehouse here and hope one day we'll get enough rain to fill up the lake ... it'll happen, just don't know when ... thank you so much for the links ... bet you have fun up there ... I noticed the lady on one side of me had taken in her own, she surrepticiously took a drink throughout the movie...not that I was watching, lol. Actually, she and her partner were most kind, they had the end seats and moved up the row to make it easier for P and did so cheerfully. Nice people. Nearly 8 pounds? I think that translates to over $11 in Canadian dollars ... which means they charge you more there than here ... The snuck in beverage is a time honored tradition ....

He was on top of the shed roof this morning (which was icy) fixing the roofing felt, with me holding onto the ladders for dear life. What was funny, was, a neighbour comes up for a chat while he is up there with hammer poised....happens every time. What can you do? I have long said .. if you want the phone to ring or someone to show up at the door, all you need to do is get in the shower or sit on the toilet.... you might not hear from anyone all day, but guarenteed you will at that moment.... Of course, most of the time it is some sort of marketing call ...

GOOD news El, They[ the budget] didn't take our free travel bless their flowery hearts! I'm satisfied with the outcome, we have to pay a few euros extra here & there, but not earth shattering! Maureen, my Irish cousin who lives in the UK, tells me our travel system over here in Ireland for the 'oldies'[God help us, I'm one(: altho'I still keep my brain well oiled] is a far more generous system than that of the UK.. We have full free travel on all long distance trains.. coaches, city trams and buses, and can travel anytime. How does that compare with you El in Wales for example? or the UK, far as you know?

It's a few days short of my own mother's anniversary, always harder to bear nearing Christmas, but very sad at the best of times.

I love some of the Stephen King novels. I had a pinched back nerve that required me to be prone most of the day. My wife picked up 6 of his novels that I had not read. I finished all 6 in about 2 weeks. I hope that's better by now Boomer.... I found some books I had mislaid when we did the furniture swop around the other week, one of which is 'Letters from America' written by Alistair Cooke...I read it years ago but am reading a few chapters every night before I go to sleep, brilliantly written.

The snuck in beverage is a time honored tradition .... That's right Franko, they have smaller bags of popcorn and a coke, that is only £3. 95 but it's hardly worth having. Imagine taking a bunch of children to the cinema and having to pay that much. I took a milk shake in one time and produced it from my bag just before the lights went down, quick as a flash, the lady along the row said 'mind the usher doesn't see you, you are not supposed to bring in your own refreshments'...I was in two minds whether to tell her 'mind yours' instead of which I politely thanked her, but it's like living under a dictatorship!...:)

I lkie Will and Kate, the latest is she has been discharged from hospital, not the best start to her pregnancy, but she looks fine and hopefully all will go well for them now.

We can only be thankful for small mercies can we not Grace, it the same here, they have left our Winter Fuel Payments intact, and also free travel on buses, we don't have trams here (more's the pity) and I don't think we qualify for free train travel, occasionely they make concessions on the mountain railway to locals...that's about it. That is excellent that you have the free long train rides....

Flower-Child wrote: <quoted text> Good evening, Lady El ... yes, it's been 3 weeks and initially for the first two weeks I tried self medicating ... NOTE TO SELF: never do that again ... so as of today I've been on steroids, antibiotics, tessa pearls for cough, albeuteol for wheezing in the lungs and chest and nasal spray for breathing and allergies ... good old walking pneumonia and bronchitis almost landed me in the hospital with pneumonia ... sick body I tell you ... Jax was a trooper and would jump up on the bed with me, how did he know? Pooh Bear right by my bed, how did he know? What troopers they are ... My domestic helper an angel ... I couldn't ask for anything or anyone better ... Finally, I went to the gym today, probably overdid it ... a half hour on cardio, hit the machines and the the free weights ... looked at the floor mats for the floor exercises and that's about all I did, just looked at them, lol ... an hour of exercises and I was just about out of breath, no more breath, did 120 ab crunches on my way out and headed toward the car ... this was after I made it to the bank and downtown to the docs to pic up some meds so I had a full day ... tomorrow, we shall see ... probably won't be able to move, heh!... Better days ahead of us all, Lady El ... Hope you, P and the furry one's are all well ... sure that's the case ... that is certainly my wish for you and all here ... Much love and affection ... your friend, FC <3 ... Right here Flower....I had no idea...how ARE you today, good grief you put an Olympic contestant to shame with those ab crunches, you must be feeling it today. Sounds like you went for the burn. Well can only say that I hope you are feeling better and that the anti-biotics and steroids help and have kicked in. I had to laugh listening to a comedian on the telly, he was talking about 50 Shades of Grey...and said he thought it was a Dulux Colour chart, hahaha Bitterly cold here and raining, had a teensy sprinkling of snow but that has all gone, it is just cold. Oddly enough I like it, I love frosty morning....can't wait to see some snow. Damp is something you do NOT need at the moment, keep warm dear Flower, vital you let the meds get to work and get back to strength. Much love and well wishes. <3
